There is'nt really enough new stuff to recommend this if you already have FIFA 08, but then UEFA EURO 2008 is all about serving a purpose - and that purpose is to banish the memories of England's failure to qualify. In that sense,
its more therapeutic than entertaining -
and we are thankful.

OFFICIAL REVIEW OF UEFA EURO 2008?On 7th June 2008 the 13th UEFA European Championships? ... more
kicked off to huge fanfare. The tournament's first game took place in Basel and saw joint hosts Switzerland take on the Czech Republic in an action packed game that set the scene for a magical month of football. The group stages that followed provided some unforgettable action with teams like Portugal, Holland and Spain setting the pace and showing the rest of Europe how free scoring football should be played. The slogan of the tournament; 'Expect Emotions' certainly delivered on its promise with game after game of non-stop action and breathtaking goals. Who can forget Croatia's heart breaking defeat by Turkey in the quarter final penalty shoot-out or Turkey's last minute exit at the hands of Germany following their brave campaign? Russia's excellent performances surprised and impressed many culminating in an awesome display that left Holland's European dreams in tatters. As the tournament reached a climax on Sunday 29th June, two teams were left to battle it out at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna for the biggest prize in European football. Germany, perhaps not a surprising finalist and Spain, reaching this stage for the first time in over 20 years. A fantastic match followed filled with passion and drama with both teams struggling to gain dominance, perhaps fittingly for such a final it was decided by a sublime strike from Fernando Torres, who gave Spain their second European Championships and their first trophy in 44 years. No football fan should miss this DVD and an opportunity to relive all the action, drama and goals from a simply unforgettable football tournament!
Advantages: good graphics, change history matches, Disadvantages: not much different to fifa 08

The EA bigwings must have shat themselves when the wally with the brolly and his bunch of overpaid, overrated underachievers crashed out of Euro 2008 before the tournament even began. After all, which englishman would want to buy a football game without england in it?
Well fear not beacause EA has 'cheated', letting you rewrite history by either playing through the qualifiers, or if you can't be arse'd to struggle against the likes of the mighty Andorra again, you can skip straight to the tournament itself and simply swap one of the teams for England.
Unfortunately you still have to suffer the sight of the gnarly-looking, innefective McClaren on the sidelines. Continuing where FIFA 08 left off, the new captain your country mode is a variation on the game,s Be A Pro mode. Here you create a new player or choose an existing star and must try to force your way into the Euro 2008 first team andeventually captain the side by controlling that player in 'B' matches, friendlies and qualifiers.
In gameplay terms there is'nt really a lot to differentiate this from this FIFA 08, though it is a bit quicker and easier to score - which should please FIFA 08 Fans no end. And you will see players reacting badly to being substituted, mangers prowling the touch line and rain lashing down. Interactive goal celebrations is a gimmickly new feature which you control using various button and anlaogue stick combos, and they're only really worthwile for rubbing the noses of complete strangers in the dirt whenever you are playing online.
