I have been using ukdvdr for a few years now since I got my DVD recorder. When I first started using them I couldn't fault them. The prices were good, the site easy to navigate, the orders processed quickley and efficiently and if there was a problem with your order you were dealt with politely and they fell over themselves to help. How things have changed! Ok the prices are still good, in fact they have come down a great deal since I started using them. The site although it has a lot more items for sale is still easy to find you way around. The delivery times providing the order gets processed is excellent. What really lets them down is the fact that when they mess up with orders they don't seem to care about putting it right.
My last order with them was put in at 11am on a Thursday, and so should have been delivered by 5pm the next working day. The promise on site was if it's not delivered when we say we refund your postage! Apparently though this only counts if they aren't having a sale (read the site and you will find there is very rarely NOT a sale on even if it's just on a few products)! Now I say apparently because nowhere on the site does it say anything about this, but during their latest mix up with my delivery this is what was told. I finally recieved my order 10 days after it was due and only after some 4 emails to them asking where it was. I couldn't phone them because it states on the website that late delivery problems are dealt with by e mail only I did try to speak to someone on the phone but the only words uttered at the other end was "you need to email, that's the only way we deal with these problems!"
The emails I got from them was firstly there was a computer problem which had delayed orders, i got this at 5.30pm on the day my order should have been delivers and I had stayed in all day waiting for. The next one was there was a problem with the couriers van, strangly though 2 days later i recieved another email telling me that my order had "just gone to the packing warehouse to be processed" This was the worst thing was the fact that not only had they messed up with the order but I had been lied to. When my order finally did arrive it had the date packed on the invoice slip which showed the date of the email saying it was going to be packed. Though strangly it still took another week almost to actually be released, and I honestly put that down to the fact that Ilet them know I was not happy with the service.
Needless t say Ihave not nor will I ever order from them again.
But for those of you that are thinking of it heres about the site itself and the products on offer.
Large selection of blank media including dvd-r, dvd+r , dvd-rw, dvd+rw and dvd ram as well as cds. There is a wide range of prices and generally the price reflects the quality, although the clearance section usually has some better quality discs at the lower quality prices, this may be because of printing mistakes or because they are last of stock.
They also stock such things as cables for computers, mp3 players, ink cartridges, paper, blue tooth accessories, flash drives and cd/dvd/storage. All are reasonably priced and you will be hard pushed to find most things cheaper.
They also rate discs as to how well they perform for certain tasks for example they rate for movies, games and data and give a score for how well the disc handles the content out of 5.
All prices on the site are inclusive of vat.
The site is well thought out, clear and easy to navigate. Everything is broken into sections, the DVDs are separated by format and then by write speed as well.
Paying is easy. First you need to register your basic details and payment is then sent through sec pay. I have never had any problems paying and they accept all major credit and debit cards and also nochex. You can also pay cash if you collect in person.
Delivery is usually delivered the next workign day if you order befre 3pm. There is a flat rate delivery for most items that are delivered by city link. You can pay a premium for saturday delivery. Once your order has been dispatched you are emailed a job number so you can track your order online.
In case of problems...
As I've said, the customer service in my opinion has gone downhill as the company has grown. When i first ordered from them I had n problems whatsoever for the first couple of orders, then I had an item left out. I called them and I was dealt with politly and apologetically. My item was sent the next day with a note of apology. In the last few months problems have taken days to sort out, and it seems to me they have grown to big too fast and haven't been able to cope without sacrificing something and that something has been their customer service.
Would I use them again? NO, I believe that if you're not happy with a service and you go back you are just saying it's okay to treat you bad and it's not! But I wouldn;t say that other shouldn''t try them, just if you have a problem thats not sorted to your satisfaction don' t go back!
This company has got worse again.
Prices are going up (there is cheaper if you know where to look), service is terrible, theyve obtained there ability to copy and paste answers in reply to different emails ive noticed.
Out of my last five orders, theyve messed up every order. 3 of the orders have not turned up. then ive had to hassle them for a refund.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!
There are very badly run or going bust.

very helpful reviw. company to stay away of. orders are supposed to facilitate life
