relatively popular seven decided to cancel the show, only to be picked up by the rival channel ten networks. Most people might like to no, that seven replaced the neighbours brand by airing a new show titled "Home and Away". The show was aired Monday to Friday and lasted roughly 22 minutes, however its popularity has slowly decreased throughout the years and at current estimates the show only attracts about 700,000 viewers a day in Australia.
History of the show (UK):
With the huge popularity of the show domestically, BBC decided to pick up the show for its daytime and early evening viewers. Neighbours made its UK debut on Monday the 27th October 1986, and it soon became a huge hit. Advantages: Famous actors, Australian setting Disadvantages: None
Everybody needs good Neighbours
One of my favourite Australian export shows is Neighbours and I have been a fan ever since I was a child, well over twenty years, as it first began airing in Australia in 1985 and in England in 1986! It is now shown on channel 5 in England.

Advantages: Got to see the sets Disadvantages: Not what I expected
eventually we got to have our photograph taken holding the sign. You see the actual street isn't called Ramsey Street I am not sure what it is called.

This tour didn't last overly long roughly 3 hours but that includes travelling between destinations. It costs $40 Australian dollars to do the tour each, which is expensive enough for what you get to do. One Australian dollar is equal to roughly 0.47 United Kingdom pounds. If you are a Neighbours fan it is worth spending the money. You were told you would receive a free souvenir gift, which I was disappointed we never received. If you wanted you had the choice to leave out the sets (Laisters, General Store, Charlies etc.) and meet a star instead from the show. Personally this did not appeal to me and I didn't want to meet a star and talk to them. I would have felt cheated if I hadn ...
