Advantages Compact, swivel design with key ring attachment, good price
Disadvantages none
Introduction:
I was looking for a >6GB i.e. at least 8GB USB flash drive to create a 'bootable' recovery USB drive for my Toshiba NB250-107 netbook. The cheapest on the web is this one direct from 7dayshop.com at £7.79 inclusive of VAT and delivery. I have purchased from 7dayshop.com before for other stuff and therefore their own brand product should not be too bad.
However if I order the same item from via Amazon market place or eBay for the same 7dayshop.com, the item will cost > £8.50 - some commission there. The latest price of the same item from the same shop today - £7.29 direct from 7dayshop, £7.80 from Amazon Market Place, £8.39 from eBay.
Other brand (Kingston, SanDisk, ByteStor) cost around £9 or above.
What is in the package:
Installation and setup:

The outer casing of the main body has a rubbery coating rather those hard plastic.
Therefore It provides a better grip and a shock-proof feeling (only a feeling, this item is not really classified as shock-proof).
Also, the metal protector has an eye for linking it to a key ring with a big bunch of keys that you will feel and hear it when it fell from your pocket.
Due to a swivel design, this is shorter than convention USB pen drives by 1 - 2 cm.The only maybe downside of this item is its weight. The metal protector makes it heavier than the other plastic USB drives. For me, I would rather to have a sturdy metal protector than a light weight plastic one.
Something Extra:There are some pen drives on sale that claim to have more capacity than they actually are. The seller somehow can virtually change the real capacity e.g. 2GB to 8GB or above. When it is used the first time, the computer will flag it up as 8GB or above. Then when you try to store data in it, it either cross-link your data, overwrite your previous files with the new one without warning or crash completely.
When you re-format these drives, their true capacity will appear.
Beware of these fakes and buy from a reputable supplier.
Good value for money and quality built USB pen drive.
