Advantages Advantages It works and keeps working!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Difficult head replacement.

I was going to live in the USA (a long story but a short emigration as it turned out). Knowing the reputation we Brit's have in the states for having bad teeth I wanted to make sure mine were at least the best they could be without dental surgery. I'd already been told by my dentist that my gums were receding due to over zealous brushing so I thought I'd go down the route of the electric toothbrush. After buying, using and binning a number of cheaper electric toothbrushes (for a variety of reasons but mostly because they stop working!) I decided to spend a bit more. At last I chose a good'un ... more

Advantages Advantages Great cleaning, 2 year guarantee, rechargeable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not multi-user friendly

The Ultrasonex Phaser toothbrush gives your teeth a great clean. It cleans with ultra sonic vibrations. Before Christmas 2002 several stores, Boots and Argos, had a half price offer on the Utrasonex making it just under £40. The brush came with a recharger five brush heads and a 2 year guarantee. After a couple of weeks use your teeth will look and feel cleaner. The brush handle has a nice design that sits neatly in the hand although it is longer and fatter than a normal toothbrush. There's an on-off button in the middle of the handle. Once on, it cleans in six bursts of 30 seconds with a ... more

Advantages Advantages Gets teeth as clean as those trips to the dentist.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Each toothbrush needs its individual charger.

Having lost my front teeth to dentures I resolved to take extra special care of my remaining teeth. Though price determined which sonic toothbrush I purchased in the end (£20 off £59.99 at Boots, plus all those loyalty points). The booklet is quite informative, but only begins to make sense once you start to use the toothbrush (which at first sight looks enormous). I can imagine it being somewhat awkward for those with the smaller mouth, as you need to stretch your mouth as wide as possible and be in front of a mirror so that you can see and do a good job. The ends of the bristles are placed ... more

    Advantages Advantages It really works

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, especially when buying for a household

I had terrible gum disease and advancing recession when I invested in this toothbrush. Most dentists' answer to this condition is more frequent hygienist visits; but as anyone with a serious problem knows, with the use of conventional or electric toothbrushes, even two-monthly descales give relief for only about a week before the bleeding returns. In my case, the issue was forced due to a chemical allergy which has recently become life-threatening; a visit to a dentist or hygienist is now all but impossible. This is relevant to others because I can confidently report that I have not only ... more
