I go through batteries like no bodies business so when I saw this baby in my local Maplins going cheap (6 quid I think at the time) I decided that I must get it. That is about the cost of batteries for a week on my personal CD Player.
The Charger itself can take both AA, AAA and 9 volt PP3 batteries as I use all of these then this multi-functionality is a must.
The charger can also charge either Ni-CD or NI-MH batteries with the flick of a switch making it better, as a chemist I should know the difference but I don't care as long as the thing works it is ok in my book.
Charging for the first charge it says 16 hours so I left them on for that time, once the batteries are charged the LED went green, and then I plugged them into my personal CD player and dumped a set into my digital camera. Fantastic...... after that an overnight charge is enough for most needs.
Ok the digital camera has hardly been used since then but it is a 40minute journey into work and the usage of my personal CD player has been as follows:-
Day 1 listening to Husker Du -Warehouse: Songs and stories to and from work.
Day 2:- Clash - London Calling To Work, Rocky Ericcson and The Explosives - Casting The Runes From Work then Man Or Astroman - Live Transitions From Uranus to the pub another 10 minutes.
Day 3:- Gaza Strippers - From the Desk of Dr Freepill to work and The Sacrilicious sounds Of the Supersuckers from work.
Day 4:- Monomen - Bent Pages to work and am awaiting the result from work but the low battery light on my CD player is showing which normally means that I have about half an hour left before I run out.
To sumarise I am impressed both at the cost and the amount of battery life I have gotten out of this Charger and battery pack. If you use batteries a lot like I do then it should be an indispensable item. This baby is has already recouped about 75% of the cost in 4 days, and it is better for the environment we live in probably.
