Closing in on blue, slowly but surely, less than 1000 to go! I'm a 2nd yr degree student at Loughborough studying BSc Sports Science with Management, very busy at mo, little time for reviewing i'm afraid! p.s. check out lil_lisa86s reviews too!
You can get these almost anywhere, all the elctrical shops such as Dixons, Comet, Currys etc stock them as well as hardware shops and places like Argos.
For those of you unfamiliar with batteries (and what kind of rock have you been living under if you are not!!!) you have to be careful when purchasing as to which type you get as different products take different types. AA, as reviewed here, are often used in clocks, TV remotes, portable CD players etc, the larger types of home products which require batteries. However, some smaller products tend to take AAA type batteries so be careful before you buy!
As it says in the product description, these batteries are apparently good for approximately 1000 recharges, which is a lot, and seeing as each pair will give you around 10 hours in the more energy sapping of products, thats a lotta battery life for a few quid! Just thinks 10,000 hours minimum of your fave music on the go, perfect! These batteries in question are of the Ni-Mh (Nickel Metal Hydride) variety, and again you must be careful as some products will state whether you are only to use Ni-Mh or their closely related cousin, Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) so be careful when buyin to check which your product needs! However, if you can, i would stick to the Ni-Mh variety as I am led to believe they also recharge much faster than Ni-Cd ones.
Now for the boring statistical stuff in simple terms...
- AA type - Nickel Metal Hydride - Voltage 1.2 V - Capacity 1300 mAh
If you get a good recharger (Uniross again make a particularly good range of express rechargers...) it can take as little as an hour for a full recharge, which is pretty good compared to the old days of all-night charging for 5 hours use! My current charger does these in 5 hours, and Ni-Cd in 8 i think...
Aside from that, theres not a lot else to say really, they're only batteries after all! Some prices for you to mull over before buying are as follows...
For 4: - £7.50 from Toolmix.com - Around £5 from ebay - Around £5 from all other retailers mentioned at the start of the review!
