If you use a digital camera then you are going to need some rechargable batteries at some point, unless you plan to spend the whole time taking pictures inside your apartment. There is not much to choose between different brands in my experience, basically you get what you pay for, the larger the capacity the longer they last between charges. These are the ones I use for digital photography, because they rechgarge in about 8 hours, or overnight, if you have the Uniross rapid charger RC101159, and a little longer with other cheaper Uniross chargers. I also have a set of Hahnel rechargeables of the 2100mAh capacity as well, and I would say that they last quite a bit longer. If you can afford higher capacity batteries then they will last longer, but you have to balance that against recharging time which will also be longer.
There is no set rule as to how long a set of batteries will last in a camera they all consume batteries at different rates, you can only go by the maunfacturers claims (of the camera) and your own experience. A rule of thumb would be to buy the highest capacity you can afford then you know you are getting the best perfomance you can out of your equipment. any problems further to that regarding battery consumption and that, is down to the design of the camera. Sony Cybershot are renowned for battery guzzling and there are plenty of others. All I can recommend is that you read plenty of reviews before you buy your camera, as this is always an evaluation included in all digicam reviews I have seen.
I have had this set of batteries for some time, about a year and they have always given me good perfomance. I use a 128mb CF card in my Casio QV2900ux and they can easily cope with that without recharging. In another camera they may not last that long, or they may last longer, you can only know through experience. If you have had trouble with battery consumption, I would skip this set and go straight to a set of 2100 mAh and try them.It is also worth having two sets of batteries, one in the camera and one on charge.
I think these batteries are pretty standard, not exceptional performance but not lacking either. I think they are worth the money, but if you want better longer perfomance you are going to have to shell out for some higher capacity ones.

Hi,
welcome to Ciao, I just want to clarify what is a mith about rechargeable batteries.
You can't use 1.2v batteries on a digital camera these will last probably around 5 to 10 shots amd then the camera will show low battery sign.
this is because the batteries when fully charged can go up to 1.4 or 1.53v but the nominal charge is 1.2v this is the value when the cameras will stop working.
For cameras please se the rechargeable 1.5v will last longer.

How long do they actually last for after the 8 hours recharging? We are having problems finding even rechargeable batteries that last any time at all in our camera, it's an utter pain. Welcome to Ciao. Sharron xxx
