---THE PRODUCT---
Definately glad to be an owner of one of these chargers, even though they seem quite pricey, the batteries are great as they are reusable, and you don't waste money on purchasing darn AA batteries, again and again. It's easy to use, don't take hours to charge like the previous models which took around 8 hours and meant that you had to leave it on over night, worrying that it would heat up and catch the house on fire.
I wouldn't be without this, endlessly purchasing batteries for items. Furthermore you can't use ordinary batteries in Digital Camera's as they are drained after you've took three photo's with the flash on. These therefore are robust and useful in the long run and will save you money and time.
---MODEL---
The model number is. RC104318 It's full charge happens in about 90 minutes, however I believe that most of my batteries have charged in about 60 minutes, on a full charge from an empty battery. As well as getting the charger, which plugs straight into the
wall it includes 4 x 2500mAh Ni-Mh AA's (which are in sliver, and look quite attractive, you won't get these thrown out as they definately stand out from panasonic and duracell) You can charge AAA batteries however the sale only comes with 4 AA batteries.
It has a sensor control, a red and green light, to tell you when it is still charging and when the charge is fully complete. Another helpful feature is that it includes a car adapter for no extra cost. This charger the Sprint 90 accepts Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd batteries, in both AA and AAA Formats, charging them in sets of 2 or 4 at a time. Also charging 2 batteries will reduce the charging time.
Overall the charger is quite tiny, not too bulky. Silver in colour. Nothing that remotely interesting about it. Also it comes with an in-car charger where you can charge your batteries up in the carscigarette lighter which is always a bonus for photographers on the go?
---LONG LASTING?---
They last a good deal of time in my digital camera, and can be left in there for days and days, without going flat. These batteries are perfect for a 6mpx camera, and can last shots and shots after... even with the flash on. I was quite amazed the other day when I actually took over 200 shots on my camera, within a period of three days, and the battery stayed full for a long time.
They always will be bringing out new models and batteries with a better capacity for the charge. However I rate these as reliable, and if they do run out quite speedily, you have the option to charge them in the car if it's that urgent?
---FEATURES---
Intelligent Delta V is at the end of the charge detection system, which lets you know when the batteries are fully charged, and another plus thing is that the batteries don't heat up, unlike the earlier models, which have green batteries, which get extremely hot during charge and need to be let to cool down. There is a built in safety timer, and a bad cell detection system, also it wont let you charge an odd number of batteries, like 1 or 3.
It's great for people that are on the go and like a quick charge. I'd say it does it in around 40 minutes, I have used older batteries like 1800, but they are not really meant for this charger, as I dont see the difference when they are charged in here.
With my model I also got an adaptor which plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car, does this mean that I can charge batteries on the go, yes?
---PRICES---
The price ranges from about a low £12 now up to about £19. I paid £15 for mine, and it definately is worth the money. Saving so much money on batteries which go to waste in a camera, especially like duracell, they can only hold about 5 shots in a digital camera and then they disapointingly die out. So these batteries are definately an advantage, to save you money, and they are durable, long lasting... Try ebay if you want to get a lower price, also a spare set of batteries is always good if you want to go on holiday. You can put it into an adaptor to take abroad and the times don't change much either.
Definately get this if you are a camera freak.... But be careful whilst carring it as the plug section is plastic, which could result in chipping or breaking, and another point it isn't extremely slimline, but as I have to mention not too bulky.
---BUY FROM---
PC world at around £15.00 which isn't too bad considering you aren't going to be forever buying Duracell batteries at £4 a time. The only downside though is people say you shouldn't use these batteries in wireless keyboards or mice, but I never have a problem with them.
Or for you online shoppers you can get it at the bargain price of £13.99 including delivery on www.play.com. Which is the cheapest price I've seen it at. When it first came out I paid nearly around £18-20 for my charger. However now most camera's and devices can work quite happily off AAA batteries, but it's not always a downside as you can buy the AAA rechargeable batteries in replace of the AA.
Also they should be available in superstores such as Tesco's as they sell alot of digital products now, even DIY stores like B&Q sell them and car stores like Halfords. They are widely available in electronic stores such as Maplin, catalogues such as Argos. The product is widely available at a number of places so you shouldn't have trouble finding them?
