Applying for a course at Bristol is a nightmare
Review of Bristol University by lucyo7

Advantages: Nice campus, good teaching
Disadvantages: Very poor admin for entrants, slow and fussy, not up to date with modern technology

It seems to me that Bristol is a nightmare to get an offer of a place on a course. My boyfriend applied there to study physics through UCAS. The universities are supposed to reply to the applicant by something like March, but Bristol were late responding (by more that just a couple of days). Still, my boyfriend went to visit the uni and really liked it so made it his first choice. They sent him information about accommodation for him to fill in. ...
...the country). With the information, Bristol sent an A4 sized self adressed envelope for my boyfrined to send the application back in. Unfortunately, new rules mean that A4 envelopes require more than one stamp, something that the imformation pack did not specify. This meant that my boyfriend's (and many others across the country) application for accommodation never reached the university. Still, my boyfriend was undeterred and was happy to sacrifice ... My First Year At UEA
Review of East Anglia University by euronay

Advantages: Great people. Good education
Disadvantages: Outwardly strange buildings

The University Of East Anglia, more commonly known as UEA, is set out the outskirts of Norwich on what used to be Earlam Golf Course. The most striking features of the UEA are its radical concrete buildings dumped in a beautiful setting. It takes a while to get used to but being able to wake up in Norfolk Terrace and look out towards the lake is a great perk. The accomodation at UEA varies. First there is the cheap accomodation in either Norfolk ...
...supposed to be knocked down next year). You basically get a room with a bed, a sink and a desk - and a shared kitchen and toilets/shower. Students are grouped into floors, between about 9 and 14 people. These will become your closest friends. Oh, and all rooms have broadband internet and a phone line. The more expensive accomodation. such as Nelson Court, Constable Terrance and the Village have basically the same room but with furniture from Ikea ... Read review

this uni is cool :)
Review of Hertfordshire University by carlos2112

Advantages: everythings fab!
Disadvantages: HATFIELD

...brilliant and the University of Hertfordshire is fully equipped to offer all students a fab experience. The main draw to the University (academically) is the fact that courses can be mixed and matched; students originally planning to study history can find themselves studying as different language or accountancy! This diversity is encouraged in the University allowing students to choose options for themselves which they wouldn't have thought possible. ...
...am currently studying Spanish, Journalism, History and Philosophy! The courses are fun and very interactive. Even lectures which are traditionally an "I talk you listen" learning approach are interactive with the lectures regularly asking for opinions and contribution's from the class. Seminars are aimed more at expanding ideas for the students and the seminar leaders act as catalysts carefully guiding the ideas and thoughts of the students in the ... Read review

It ain't all that bad
Review of East London University by Luco

Advantages: A growing Uni, always introducing more courses
Disadvantages: Like anywhere near London, its pricey - rent, drinks, the lot

I currently heading towards the third year of my Journalism Degree course - I might not yet be the next Jeremy Paxman, but i think UEL has given me a good grounding. The SSMCS department have some really energetic lecturers, although they're not all quite so much fun. There's a lot of negative comment around about UEL, people talking about the league tables etc., but i've found that what you get out is a reflection of what you put. Some students ...
...now than before they joined, but i've got a good work placement, i've had my writing accepted to a few online places and i'm lookin at a pretty bright future. The place has some pretty good facilities as well - good library and i think they're planning to extend it, the docklands campus looks good (i don't really know the stratford campus), plenty of computers, good guest lecturers. Plenty of clubs and societies as well, with all of the diversity ... Read review

Westminster Law School/.... A let down.
Review of Westminster University by WestminsterLawStudent

Advantages: Central Location, Diversity ammong students, Modernised buildings and facilities
Disadvantages: Staff, Organisation, Union, Accomodation, Support

...a student, as it is over-priced, unsafe and lacks the student-community spirit that makes your time at University memorable. The University of Westminster in particular makes the assumption that it's students are already familiar with London (as many appear to be from here), and offers little support outside of academia. ...
