At first I was a little cautious about buying this game because I didn't enjoy the first Unreal that much and thought it was a poor game but when I see a game on offer... I can't resist, and I'm... more

    Advantages Advantages It looks amazing

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Very linear gameplay

PUBLISHER: Infogrames DEVELOPER: Legend Entertainment RATING: 15+ TYPE OF GAME: First Person Shooter It looks amazing… that is the first thing I’m going to say about this game. But are looks everything? No is the answer to that. For me, Unreal was an amazing and quite revolutionary game with more than amazing graphics... Unreal 2 is quite a good game that does look amazing, but I’m not sure the graphics are worth it considering the specifications you need in order to even play it. So, let's begin with looking at probably the least important aspect of any game of this kind of genre: the story ... more

Advantages Advantages Spectacular graphics; above average audio; elementary controls; good AI.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Little to no replay value; extremely short; somewhat dull and uninteresting action sequences.

When Unreal II was first announced a few months ago, I was excited. It doesn't have any of the intuitive, mind-blowing features of Max Payne or the sheer amazing aspects of Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault, but it does have an amazing graphics engine. I wasn't waiting for it to hit the market due to gameplay, I simply saw the screenshots and couldn't wait to see if it really was that beautiful. To make a long story short, Legend's new title does live up to the graphical hype but there isn't much in the way of actual gameplay. The same problems with its predecessor are present here; no actual ... more

    Advantages Advantages Graphics and sound.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dialouge, enemy and level design, short short SP mode, no mp mode.

INTRO: This review is a bit late, very late in fact but its because its taken me THIS long to get over the fact that this title was such a disapointment. for those who dont know, Unreal 2 is the sequel to the 1998 blockbuster Unreal. Whilst lacking is some areas Unreal had a solid foundation and this is why Unreal 2:The Awakening had so much hype, this is also why it saddens me to say that this game is an old tyre away from being a trash heap. STORYLINE: Unreal 2 is sci fi based, as all the games in the unreal series have been, its set in outer space where you play the character 'Dalton' as he ... more

Advantages Advantages Updated graphics, new levels, new modes of play

Disadvantages Disadvantages Continuation of same story - could be a new idea

Before i begin i must warn you that i am an avid Unreal fan. From the original up to unreal tournament, i have been hooked and still regularly play all the games. As you probably know, Unreal two isn't out yet. Actually it's due for prerelease on March 24th according to amazon, and is already bought by me. The game was leaked by some unknown source at E3 and has been played by some, and i've been told that it looks really promising even in the pre alpha release. The game continues with the theme of the unreal games. You are sent to wipe out everyone who gets in your way basically, in a violent ... more

    Advantages Advantages Graphics beyond good

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too expensive

This is the long awaited sequel to Unreal. But was it worht the wait. I was one of many who waited patiently for the release and snapped up a copy as soon as it was possible. Rushed it home and was amazed. The graphics blew me away and the sound was equally as good. The atmosphere created by lightning storms and animal noises is second to none. Just watch the first few movies and going through the training run had convinced me that is was worth every penny. But then it happened. The game itself started and I was deeply let down. This was a game that couldnt rival half life five years after it ... more
