Advantages Advantages multiplayer, quick action, variety

Disadvantages Disadvantages UT 2007 is on its way, can get repetitive

Being a fan of the Unreal Tournament for more than 6 years, I considered it as my responsibility not to miss anything which comes in the Unreal series. It is the same reason that lead me to upgrading my PC and later into Unreal Tournament 2004 years ago. But I completed the game in a week and uninstalled it, but only to realize that I got rid of it too early. Any game of the Unreal series won't be able to go off a gamer's mind too easily, and UT 2004 is just another example of that. What this game has proved is that the Tournament will live forever, and UT 2003 was nothing more than a sample ... more

-Introduction Unreal has been around ages. Since the release of Unreal in 1998, the gaming community was blown away with its look, with huge outdoor environments, detailed models and clever artificial intelligence. One year later Unreal Tournament was released. At first many gamers were sceptical about its almost non-existent storyline, but Unreal Tournament proved popular for internet and LAN play, especially as players on slower connections could compete using the ZeroPing mod. However, the one thing that set it apart from other games of its time was its level editor, which came bundled with ... more

Advantages Advantages Online gameplay you will never get bored of

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Required PC Specifications

Near the end of last year I saw a couple of screenshots of Unreal Tournament 2003 in a magazine and I was impressed. The graphics looked amazing and I thought straight away I want this. However I soon forgot about it and never actually bought it until that is, I saw the newer Unreal Tournament 2004 in the shops earlier this year. Immediately I grabbed the box and took it to the counter and bought it. I’ve never looked back since. The main selling point with any game for me is online play, which is certainly the strongest point of UT2004. This was the first mode I tried out after installing but ... more

Advantages Advantages the greatest game of all time

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none at all

UT2004, is without doubt, the greatest game of all time. It has everything you could even want in a FPS (yes, including vehicles), awesome graphics, and will run on a standard computer. It has a large variety of weapons and other powerups, lots of gametypes and mutators (add or take or change things in the game), VERY intelligent AI bots, fast and active multiplayer, lots of community support and importantly IT CAN EASILY BE EDITED with the map editor and easy engine to script (like I said there's a lot of support). I mentioned there is lots of gametypes, here's a list of the built-in ones: ... more

Advantages Advantages Fantastic gameplay, challenging but simple

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphics not amazing

UT 2004 is much like its predecessor, both in graphics and game play, but is a much bigger game, both in size on the hard drive, and actual modes of play. There are many more game types including assault and onslaught which magnify gameplay and enjoyability imensely and make the game massively immersive as you are always working with your team. In Assault you are either the attackers or defenders, the attackers having to destroy a base or weapon, while the defenders have to defend it and the surrounding area. Games can last for ages but are never ever boring as you are constantly in the battle ... more
