"Thin nail water is so not the seasons look!"

When it comes to nail polish I can't get enough of the stuff! I love painting my toe nails and wouldn't dream or leaving them shoddy looking or going out with no polish on! I use polish once or twice a week and have a massive collection and lets face it girls we can find it so cheap around and about if you keep your eyes peeled for bargains so it's easy to purchase.
One of my favourite brands of cosmetics is the amazing Urban Decay. I love everything (but the price of the stuff) from the names of the products, to the style of the packaging to the colours I can choose from within the range. I'm particularly a massive fan of Urban Decay Eye-shadows and will splash out on those whenever I can! So when I saw Urban Decay Nail Polish on my local market for £2.00 per polish I thought I'd discovered gold dust! I bought one of every colour available to me and alerted all my friends too the find too lol We cleared that stall I'm telling you now and if your an Urban Decay fan or have ever bought a polish from the range you will know (as I did at time of purchase lol) that these weigh in at a hefty £8.50 price tag per polish! Now sorry to shatter any illusions here but never have I or never would I pay that for something like this so the 8 shades I got were really exciting to me!
The Packaging:
10ml clear glass bottle. On the front in silver writing I'm told it's Urban Decay and there is the usual Urban Decay branding which is a small star shape in silver on the front. The lid/handle is silver and screws/on and off and houses a long and rather thin, but good quality brush and has a star shape integrated onto the top of it and on a sticker at the back of the bottle I'm told animal testing is a no no for this brand, contact details for Urban Decay are given and ingredients are listed. All in all it's a nice robust little bottle and keeps nice enough. I haven't found the writing to scratch off or anything and neither would I be happy at the original price if it flipping did. All round it's just a modern, funky little bottle really and looks smart although it is quite plain.
Using It:

Well the nice thing about this product is the brush. It's nice and simple to use giving adequate coverage that your in control of and it does';t flake off as your applying it thus leaving bristles on your nails (which I really do hate!).

Now it's up to you how you go about using this of course. You can use a base coat if desired but in a minute I'll come onto why I don't think you should bother with that at all!

So apply a coat onto clean nails. It goes on evenly but very thinly. Wait about a minute and it's dry because it's such a thin watery coat of colour. It does have a nice shine and is quite sheer and even when you've owned it and used it alot it doesn't go thick and cloggy. It just doesn't have any body to it to do that. So I apply another coat but once again it seems to go go uneven and patchy and you can see thinner areas on nails. Sure you could wait another minute and then another minute and keep applying the polish and to be fair eventually you get adequate results without a thick effect but blimey I lose the will to live with it and have a life and don't have all day to do this. I just want to polish and go not make a bloody meal of it! lol

I do feel this needs a top coat as well, though not for shine it does possess that to be fair to the product but because it's thin it's delicate which means if you knock it once it's set onto the nails it's easily chipped and after a couple of days wear the colour fades as well rather badly.

Really, really disappointing. I'm shocked with such an offering from Urban Decay to be totally honest with you. It just feels (and smells) like a really cheap nail polish from say a market somewhere. The consistency is far too thin and all I can say for the stuff really is there is a nice variety of colours but once again saying that alot of brands have 'funked' up their collections in resent years so Urban Decay are not exactly leading the market and offering us something unique. I think this would be overpriced at a pound a bottle! Even if I paid that for it I'd be gutted and I'm sad I bought so many bottles to be truthful with you, it was just pure greed and blind faith in the brand lol. I can use it on my toenails where no one peers at too much but wouldn't feel one bit comfortable or confident using this on my fingernails in any circumstances and I have tried this on fake nails and as you can imagine once again the consistency of this is far too thin on plastic and far too patchy and that method is definitely a no go in my humble opinion.

Recommended? Certainly not by way!
