Although I already have 2 pushchairs, a travel system and a lightweight buggy purchased to take on holiday; I wanted a buggy that would enable me to walk on the many rough tracks around where I live. A three-wheeler was the obvious choice. A friend recommended the mothercare glacier urban detour model. I also checked the reviews on this site and as they were all positive decided this would be a good choice. The buggy is sold exclusively by mothercare and costs £160.However I was lucky and managed to get one of last year’s colours for £110.The only difference is that mine is navy blue and has ... more

Advantages Advantages very manoeuvrable and light to push

Disadvantages Disadvantages heavy and bulky to lift in and out of the car

For all of you out there who would like a very nice three wheeler, which is good in and around town but able to cope with rough ground. Then this three wheeler is for you. I brought this pushchair for my second child, I wanted something that would be able to go over rough ground as found it very hard going carrying my first child on my back in a back carrier. I also wanted some thing that was going to be easy to manoeuvre around the shops too. So after a lot of research I came across this mothercare one, and it looked as if it would do the job. so I brought one second hand off of ebay. When it ... more

Advantages Advantages easy to steer, easy to fold, comfy for baby

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite heavy

Having decided that I wanted a 3 wheeler for my 6 month old, I checked out a number of shope/websites. The Urban Detour (which is recommended as the best value 3 wheeler by "Which") had been recommnded to me by a number of friends and so, as it seemed reasonably inexpensive, I decided to go for this one. I purchsed a brand new model from eBay for £74.99, although thw same model can be purchsed in store at Mother care (it retails at approx £140). It was extremely easy to assemble; simply click on the wheels, screw on the footplate and you're ready to go. The back wheels have a 'quick release' ... more

Advantages Advantages Lovely to push, all terrain, padded, large, stylish

Disadvantages Disadvantages Heavy and big when folded

I've owned my Urban Detour Glacier for over a year now and apart from a couple of down sides, I've got to say I love it to bits. It is really nicely padded and so is extra comfortable for my daughter, it has the 5 point safety harness and reclines as much as you need it to, even flat so is suitable for a newborn if necessary. The handle is nice and high, I am quite tall and suffer from a bad back so this has really helped me lots. The shopping basket itself is not huge however there is a lot of space between the bottom of the seat and the basket and so you can get lots in it. The three wheels ... more
