Advantages: Melts onto the skin; leaves skin soft and smooth; lovely smell Disadvantages: Expensive
Exfoliating is one of the most important steps of my skincare routine and one that makes the biggest difference to my biggest body irk - the tiny bumps that appear on the tops of my arms when my skin is a bit dry. The Clarins Toning Body Polisher is one of the best exfoliators I've found and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
It's both a sugar and a salt scrub and is packed with essential oils - rosewood, geranium, hazelnut, mint, palm, rosemary and shea - which all work to moisturise the skin, as well as exuding gorgeous smells. It has a really fresh, intense and invigorating smell which really perks you up in the morning - initially it's very strong but calms down when you start to use it. To use, you simply apply a generous amount to damp skin - the moisture means that the scrub almost melts into your skin and the grains don ...
Advantages: smells nice, cheap Disadvantages: a bit runny and thin
once a week, and tells you to massage the product into damp skin and then rinse off with warm water.
Does it work
The product does work to some degree, but I found that as the consistency is quite thin it didn't work as well as thicker, more expensive body scrubs that I had tried. On its own it didn't work very well, but if you use it with a mesh sponge, it tends to exfoliate better. On the plus side it doesn't irritate the skin as some harsher body scrubs can.
Negatives
As I said above the product is quite thin, and also, it tends to leave your bath full of little black grains.
My verdict
I think the Boots spabody buffer is good value for money, compared to some of the alternative body scrubs you can buy that are in a similar price range. It works quite well when combined with a mesh sponge.

Advantages: Great smell, lasts a long time Disadvantages: A little harsh, body didn't sparkle
If you've read the Clinique body cream I wrote, you'll already know that I bought this as part of a twin pack! £16.50 on it's own, in case you're planning to buy it!
This exfoliator comes in a 250ml tub; the product is blue, showing through the clear plastic tub, with a silver lid-very chic and sits nicely alongside my body cream!
It polishes rough, dry areas such as elbows, knees, etc. It smoothes and refreshes the skin with it's refreshing smell. It is used the same way as with most bodyexfoliators-preps the skin for moisturising or self-tanning; it is not meant to be used for the face and neck areas! This is because the exfoliating granules are much too harsh for your face, but suits the body.
I use this when I'm showering; you're meant to wet your body and then massage the product all over, concentrating on the really rough ...
