I had been looking for a handheld vacuum for some time, but wanted one that would look good in my home. I came across the Vax Kone which looks fantastic - it really complements my minimalist style & looks great stood in my hallway. I thought that if I bought a handheld vac that could be left on display, then I would be more likely to use it! But, alas no, it still doesn't get used much....unfortunately the power is very low. The vacuum lasts for all of 30 seconds before dying (& this is fully charged!). I find it difficult to pick up larger crumbs etc - it just doesn't have the oomph to do so. On the plus side, it is easy to pop back in the charger & is easy to empty (& can hold a fair bit of dust & dirt). There is a light in the base which can be turned on/off independantly, which is good because at least it has some use! Overall, if you're looking for a stylish alternative to the typical handheld vacuum, & are only wanting to pick up small amounts of dirt then this is perhaps worth looking at. Prices are coming down, usual price is £40 upwards, but the kone can readily be found under £20 now. If you want something that will last longer & do a better job then I'd advise spending a little more & opting for a Black and Decker version.
