Having been a Dyson owner for a good few years I was a little apprehensive to try something new but when I was given the chance to try this Vax U89 power 9 I jumped at the chance.

The box is quite compact for an upright hoover which is handy as the boxes are normally really big for this type of product. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Within 5 minutes of taking the product out the box, it was being used on my hallway and stairs. This product is very powerful and even though I had cleaned up the day before I was surprised how much it picked up! The great plus point of this product is that you don't have to go over and over the same spot like you do with some vacuum cleaners. The Vax does the work to save you time and effort!

The Vax has 3 settings on the front of it - low carpet, high carpet and high floor. You turn the dial and select the relevant setting before use and as you recline the product it selects the correct setting for you.

The on/off switch is located on the base of the Vax, right next to the power switch so it's really easy to operate with your feet. The one thing that struck me with this product is the length of the power cord and the hose. I am forever carrying my Dyson from room to room but with the Vax you can plug it in a power socket and vacuum another.

The Vax is quite heavy but it is specially designed for using on stairs. With the added bonus of a 4.2 metre stretch hose, you can plug it in downstairs and vacuum right to the top of the stairs. No more lugging a cleaner up the stairs and balancing trying to clean those little nooks and crannies.

The cleaner comes with a variety of handy tools such as a small brush especially for pet hairs and an attachment to reach right into the corners where you cannot normally reach.

The product comes with a two year warranty which provides great peace of mind.
