I have owned the Vax Mach Air Reach a couple of years now, after a reasonably long search for a new vacuum cleaner. Bagless 'vacs' are becoming more popular, and so without spending a small fortune on a Dyson I opted for the Vax. The Dyson brand is known all around the globe, and although they have an extensive list of unique patents, I were not too keen on the pricing of their range. They may be unique, but they also have very unique price tags to match.
The Mach Air Reach is easy to assemble with few instructions that are straightforward enough for anyone to understand. When you first use the Mach Air it is easy to become familiar with, and I could tell the difference in power straight away - this one is very powerful in comparison to previous vacuum cleaners I have had in the past. Not having to purchase new bags or filters was one of the attractions of this vacuum, as the filter can be simply removed and washed, and then replaced very easily. The machine is easy to use because it is fairly light but robust, and therefore easy to manoeuvre.
Stairs are often an issue for most machines but the Mach Air copes well on all surfaces. The long attachment hose comes in handy and there are 3 attachments in total to cover every area of the house and in the car. Vax give a 6 year guarantee with this machine, and I would assume this is the same for all their vacuums. You can also adjust the height of the handle which is very useful for very short and very tall people I would think. The design of the Mach Air allows you to clean right up to the edge of the skirting board and also underneath some furniture aswell without having to move them out of the way or get down on your hands and knees. The dirt collector is not very big but it is very easy to empty and clean out. Also, another advantage of being able to adjust the handle height is that you can store it easily as it can be made into quite a compact vac.
Available for around the £80-£120 mark, the Vax Mach Air Reach is reasonably well priced. In comparison to the Dyson range of vacuum cleaners this Vax model really is worth considering.
