hello there i brought my vax 6131 last year, i just use it to clean my carpets, i will use it as my hover when the other one breaks down. It cost me £149.99.
The vax cleans spills, sucks up water etc, washes carpaets, and hovers, so all in all a good all rounder.
I find the machine very noisey when cleaning and sucking up spills, although overall it performs quite well, and has very got suction
The only problem i have is it won't remove the tea stain i have on my lounge carpet, which is a bit of a bum, apart from that it cleans pretty well.
It comes with removable cleanable filters, separate removable inner piece for hovering and one for washing. Also two diffrent hose/ nozzle attachments, one for wet, one for dry hovering and all the other extra nozzles you get with a normal hover ( dust bags must be fitted when hovering ).

Advantages: Simple to use, inexpensive, great results Disadvantages: Bulky, heavy machine, difficult to store neatly

***PROBLEMS***
There are a few frustrating things I have found when using the Vax 6131. The major problem is the size and weight of the machine (especially when full of water). It is very bulky and can be hard to manoeuvre around the house. In particular I struggle with the stairs as the hose is not long enough to reach the middle stairs in my home as it does not stretch and the cylinder is far too big to sit on a step without falling. I've also found that, as the hose is connected to the cylinder quite high up, the whole vacuum topples over when I pull the hose.
The power lead is of a good length and I can do the whole house stopping only a few times to find a closer socket. I do find the lead gets in my way when I'm vacuuming as it's not retractable and so the whole length of the flex is on the floor. When it comes to ...
