I have cream coloured carpet throughout my house which shows up dirt very quickly. I bought this as an alternative to paying a professionalcarpet cleaner £60 to clean the carpet twice a year as I worked out that I would start saving money after the second time I used the carpet cleaner.
I was initially sceptical that this Vax cleaner could be as effective as paying a professional to do it, and I was also concerned that cleaning the carpet myself would be more effort than it was worth. However, I used it for the first time yesterday and was extremely impressed with the result.
The carpet cleaner is easy to assemble and set up. There is a power button towards the button which you switch on. You then pull the machine backwards over the carpet while pressing the 'Spray' button that releases the detergent. You then pull the machine forwards over the same area without pressing the 'Spray' button, to suck up the dirty water into the dirty water tank.
Although you may need to do this several times for particularly dirty areas, you can immediately see the difference it is making. For my cream carpets I had to use the machine on the whole house twice to get it completely clean, but to be honest I had found that even a professional carpet cleaner couldn't get it completely clean in one go and I had to pay him £60 for each session!
The carpets took a few hours to dry, but the machine was so effective at sucking up the dirty water that I found I could walk on the carpets much sooner than when a professional had cleaned them. However my cat didn't like the wet carpet and did a funny walk as her feet were wet!
This clever machine will prolong the life of your carpets, make your home more hygienic and also improve the texture of your carpets, making them much softer and new-looking. I would recommend it to anyone who has carpets that show up the dirt easily. If you are considering using a professional carpet cleaner more than twice over a few years then this product will easily save you money.

Hi. Welcome to Ciao. A good start here but some more info would be handy to know -especially consumers in the market. It has a hose at the back so what's that for and can it reach up stairs? How heavy is it? Is it noisy in use? What about the filling instructions? Does it have its own water heater or do you have to install hot/warm water in it? You can actually use any 3 in 1 carpet cleaner in these machines - Vax only suggest their own liquid as a way of pushing the owner to spend more. 1001 carpet shampoo is one of the best on the market for these machines - and its only £1!! If you update your review let me knw!

I prefer the cleaners that use a hose instead of the upright style. It is slightly easier to move around the house. A good investment if you can afford the initial payment. Good review, but could have done with a bit more detail.

A bit more detail would be helpful, is this an upright cleaner or do you use the hose? How and where to you put in the cleaning fluid? Is the fluid expensive/easy to buy? If you add some more detail leave a message in my guest book and I am happy to re-rate. Lin
