I purchased this vacuum cleaner almost 3 years ago for just under £100 from Argos.
Overall, it has been very good ... for the price. I did want a Dyson, but just couldn't justify the expense.

Advantages: Price; suction; on board tools Disadvantages: Messy to empty contents; noisy
...expense.
The Vax was easy to assemble and worked straight away. It has amazing sucking power. I own 2 large dogs and I have been very impressed at how effectively it picks up their hairs. The range of on board tools is excellent and means it crosses over slightly into the cylinder market in that it makes stair/ furniture/ curtain cleaning relatively easy too.
On the downside, it is very noisy (one of my dog always howls ... ...out of the way!) I have also had to replace the filter and belt (after 2 years though). Emptying the contents is also a very messy business!
The turbo tool has now stopped working, so I have decided to treat myself to a new cleaner. I've opted for a Henry Extra, although I have still to receive and try that out! ... more

Advantages: Does its job Disadvantages: Could be sturdier
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to a Dyson and have not been disappointed with the quality of cleaning it provides. It comes with a number of brush attachements, and a choice of settings for cleaning floors ranging from wooden to thick carpets. The tube attachment is my main method of using the product and is easy to use and more than adequate at cleaning the house. The product does however have a tendency to fall over very easily when using ... ...you are moving around the room and after six months of owning the product the plastic piece which holds the extension cord into position when not being used has just snapped off which is a little annoying but not essential. It also has an anti allergen facility in the section where dust and dirt is stored and an attachement for cleaning pet hair. ...

Advantages: super clean flat Disadvantages: accessories a lil too powerful
Turboforce it is. Eventually got round to buyinh a new vacuum cleaner after many months of my old cleaner smelling like it was going to burst into flames. The Vaxv-060c is not too heavy coming in at 6.3kg and the 2000 watts really does make a difference (compared to my previous 1100 watts). As i have not purchased a vacuum cleaner before, i was suprised that you had to assemble various bits and pieces yourself. Im not a manual reader, and usually get by using common sense. However after placing the various pieces in whar looked like the obvious pieces, it fell apart! So i'd advise you look carefully at the manual. Manuals are never the easiest things to read. After the first three pictures, i began to get lost. As far as i know there is one screw which is a spare, although it didn't say the cleaner came with a spare screw, but ...
Advantages: Great cleaning performance and good value Disadvantages: Very noisy
mind when choosing a vacuum cleaner. I associated the name with the original combined washer/cleaner which was the brainchild of one Alan Brazier whose background in industrial cleaning equipment led him to the conclusion that there was a need for a smaller model for domestic use. The first Vax was launched in 1979 and sold door to door but from 1982 they were made available in retail units. The company, now based in Droitwich, Cheshire now manufactures a range of upright, cylinder, steam and hard floor cleaners.
I was a little confused, when I checked on their website, www.vax.co.uk , that the 060, which is their Turboforce range, offers several different models (which only seem to vary in minor details and colour) but the 060P(Pet) does not appear in the list of machines available for online purchase. However it does appear in a linked ...
