VAX VS15

Advantages: Powerful machine if you get it to work.
Disadvantages: Terrible after sales service.

...I bought this machine in good faith, thinking that Vax is all about quality. The machine worked wonderfully.. for about five minutes. Loss of suction power, due to a cut-out mechanism that is supposed to kick in when the machine is too warm (supposedly after several months of use before the filter is changed.) However, whenever I cleaned the filter, it was a question of minutes before it was clogged again. Thinking that this was a faulty model I tried to have it replaced but the shop passed the problem onto the producers (do NOT buy any Vax machines from Argos, whatever you do!!) I then had the machine sent to Vax for repair. This whole process took about three weeks. They returned it saying that Filter was full. It wasn't. Calling them again seemed useless. ...I bought my Vax hoover just after xmas 04 when my Panasonic hoover decided to die on me,to be honest the reason why I chose the Vax was because of the price and it also had a powerful motor and it also had a turbo brush on it.I only paid £99.00 for it from Comet with it being just after xmas cash was a little tight.I was suprised to find just how powerful it was, dog hairs are so easy to pick up you dont have to go over the same area 2 or 3 times just once and the vax picks them all up no problem. The Vax comes with a turbo brush attachment which is excellent for doing the stairs steps and curtains and other soft furnishings it also has a long hose so you can do a full staircase without having to undo it and carry the hoover upstairs. ...I bought a vax carpet cleaner about 8 months ago, when my little boy started running around the house with food, and also little accidents when his nappy was not on, due to the fact I live in army quarters I thought I'd better get one instead of paying somebody to come in and clean my carpets everytime we moved. I chose the lightweight vax cleaner due to space, and have be pleasantly surprised with it, it cleans the carpets lovely, it does make a difference if you follow the instructions such as go slowly and only do a small amount at a time. The only part I was disappointed with was the upholstery hose, that did not seem to clean our sofa very well, but I do have a cream sofa and I think it need a professional clean first, before I can keep on top of it with the vax.
