I bought the Vax big bubble pet as i was looking for a bagless cleaner with a hepa filter that would pick up pet hair well. It has a 1600 watt motor, hepa filter, large capacity dust canister, 7.3 metre cord length and only weighs 5.8kg. Also included are the following tools: an extension wand which is handy for stairs and down the backs of sofas, a crevice tool, a 2 in 1 dust brush and upholstry tool and a turbo tool. There is onboard storage for all of these except the Turbo tool, which is a bit of a pain as it would be nice to have everything close at hand whilst working. Having said that the Turbo tool itself is quite something, it fits on the end of the hose and has spining brushes inside and amazing suction. It is recommended for use on stairs and pet hair, and i used it on my front door mat which i normally have to scrub at with my old vacuum, but this turbo tool cleaned it effortlessly leaving it looking like new. The vacuum itself is deep purple with a clear dust cylinder with yellow sticker like paw prints with captions like: 1600 watts and hepa filtration written on them. I thought these would peel off but they didn't. The on/off switch is located near the bottom of the hoover and is foot operated. When the vacuum arrived it was in rather a small box and I began to panic that it was not full size as i had thought. On opening the box however my fears were unfounded as it was a full size model, but needed assembling, and quite a bit of it too, which took me about 1/2 an hour . As this only arrived yesterday i cannot comment on its long term use, but i was horrified at the amount of stuff that was picked up when i vacuumed through the house with it today, the dust canister was almost a third full. It is quite easy to empty the dust canister and it is recommended that the filter is taken out and gently banged on the side of the dustbin to clean it when you empty the main canister. The only downsides apart from nowhere to store the turbo tool is that the vacuum is quite noisy and is quite heavy to use when switched on. Also switching from main vacuum to using the hose is a bit fiddly.
I've just finished cleaning the flat and was mildly irrated by my vacuum cleaner so I thought I would share this irritation with ciao readers. Now, over the years I have gone through many vacum cleaners trying both uprights and cylinders but they all... more
