Advantages: bagless, long flexible pipe attached, very long lead, good at getting up pet hairs Disadvantages: cleaning filter, noisy, overheats
...This cleaner arrived in a box in three pieces, the instructions were not very clear but the pieces were simple enouch to work out how they should be assembled. On first use the main thing noticed was the noise, this is not a quiet vacuum for when the children are in bed. The turboforce and rotating brushes were brilliant at lifting the pile and picking up the pet hairs, fantastic i thought, but shame abouth the sound.
The cable is very long so from one room to the next it is very easy to move without having to relocate the power supply. All was well although with such good pick up the waste container was soon ready for emptying. This can be a messy task as the filter needs taking out and manually tapping until it is clear of debris. Don't do this in the house or all your hard work is wasted.
Unfortunately after what seemed...

Advantages: Excellent suction for pet hairs, easy for getting under furniture Disadvantages: Noisy and cumbersome
...After having used a well-known brand of hoover for about four years, it gave up the ghost and I was on the hunt for a new one.
I needed a hoover that was reasonably priced, and an appliance that would pick up dog hairs, as one of my Springer Spaniels sheds dreadfully! (Surprisingly she is NOT bald!)
Enter the VaxTurboforce cyclonic power cleaner at 1700 watt.
Having seen it advertised in Argos and comparing other hoovers alongside the Vaxturboforce, I opted to take the plunge with the Vax 006. It came at a reasonable price - £119.99., making a saving of at least £100.00 for a hoover like my previous one.
The Turboforce has a pretty impressive parts list. It has a crevice tool, extension wand, lower hose, dust brush, upper tool caddy, and coupled with these items are all the wonderful gadget-y parts like a headlight...

Advantages: Excellent suction, picks up all dirt, great accessories, hose good for corners Disadvantages: Very very heavy & difficult to manouvre. So heavy I can't use it!
...I bought the new Vax Mach 7 over the weekend and unfortunately it is going back to the shop shortly.
In terms of suction and accessories, it is brilliant - picks up all the dirt and dust and the hose suction is fantastic for corners, skirting boards etc.
HOWEVER, it is so heavy and difficult to manoevre that I simply cannot use it. It weighs over 10kg and I am no weakling but I cannot carry that up and down the stairs. It is really hard to push around generally and I have put my back out using it! It's such a shame as it is a really good machine but not for me. I phoned the Vax helpline and the lady told me it was an extremely heavy machine and as it's hurt my back I can take it back as it's not fit for the purpose for which I bought it. I honestly think it would be easier to move a cement mixer around the house! Let's hope...

i borrowed this vac off a friend to try, i thought it would be good, but i struggled to get it working as the brush bar kept turning its self. It had no suction what so ever when in brush off mode. Anyways we figured out that it worked very well if you... more
