It does have a couple of disadvantages: It has no facility to do stairs; the overall capacity is not great; it's not the quietest. This is why I would only recommend it for regular small area cleaning or occasional all-carpet cleaning. Ideal if you have a baby or small animal, maybe. I would suggest that, after you have done the cleaning part, you empty the dirty water tank then go back over the area and pick up more excess water. You will be amazed how much you pick up the second time around. Carpet drying varies alot but I found 3 or 4 hours to be sufficient for most.

Cautions: The filter is TINY and, if you have several dogs or cats it might not be sufficient. The dirty water box is wedge shaped and you need to be careful as you remove it to empty it. DO NOT allow the point of the wedge to fall down towards the floor. Your feet will be bathed in delicately-scented dirty water!! Keep the base of the wedge flat and you should be fine. You'll only forget once, trust me!!

To sum up; this is a basic cleaner that works well enough and, if you shop around, can be excellent value for money. Hiring a cleaner costs £25 a day around me and I found this cleaner online for £50 so it will pay for itself soon enough. It's compact, simple to use, easy to store and lightweight. Given the cautions above, this could be an ideal cleaner for you.
