On my "other" carpet cleaner breaking down we were in dire need to get new one as we had just had some building work done and are the proud owners of 5 children. We bought the vax and was really dismayed at the preformance. it is definately not for you if you need something to do a deep cleaning job. the spots did not budge I had to get down on my hands and knees with a scrubbing brush. the little brush basically spreads the dirt from one side to the next. On the plus side it is a light weight very easy to use machine if you have a low maintence clean up. great for sucking up spills but does not work on those tougher stains and marks.
