VAX V 037 Vac'n MOP

Advantages: Good cleaning, lightweight upright with good extension and tools
Disadvantages: Very noisy

...I bought the VAX V025 because it was lightweight and a bagless vac. I've been pleased with the results - it has good suction, is easy to empty, has some useful extensions (up to 20 feet approx) and some good onboard tools that work well on the difficult things like pet hair. The only disadvantage is that it's a very noisy machine - but vacuum cleaners are never that quiet, are they? From a design point of view the button to switch the power on and off is very close to the handle release, so occasionally you switch the machine off by mistake when really all you want to do is change the angle of the cleaner. But apart from that, the design is good - on-board tools are easy to reach and when put back properly don't have that annoying habit of falling off as you move around the room.... Read review

...When my flatmate bought this, I thought she'd made a big mistake - you can't get a good vac for that price! Well it's not a great vac... but it really does the job. It's realy light weight, so it's easy to get upstairs, in fact it's so easy I carry it with one hand and vac the stairs with the other! I thought we'd loose suction too - but one look in it's belly shows it can certainly pick up the dust. It's bagless and I haven't quite got the hang of emptying it cleanly... yet! The handle encompasses the attachment tube and it does feel a bit weak as you roll it round the floor, but if you remember that this isn't a heavy duty machine and it was very cheap... you can forgive it it's small weaknesses.... ...I purchased a Vax Sahara (£219.00) because its supposed to clean hard floors. I have a big kitchen and needed something easy to use to clean my hard floor. I thought the Vax Sahara was the floor cleaner for me, and boy was I wrong. The first few times were okay it cleaned my floor but only the same as a normal mop would clean it so I was not impressed. When the blade at the bottom of the Sahara was dirty I found it hard to take off and even harder to clean. When you had finally got it back together I found it not cleaning my floor just pushing dirt marks around my floor leaving me a bigger mess than when I started. Also the cylinder kept breaking and I had to keep ordering them from Vax. Also it is suppose to suck up the dirt and water off you floor leaving it dry, thats a joke I had all wet patches dirt lines where it could not suck... Read review
