£50 later after buying it at Argos, I took the QuickliteV046S home with me. I was really surprised when opening the box to find that all I needed to do was to drop the handle and lock it into the back of the Vax and then just switch on whenever it was needed. But before I did, I put a new bag into the Goblin and went over the carpets as I would normally do just to see what this new Vax would take up afterwards.
The design of the V046S is rather pleasing if not overly loaded with too many graphics. A swirly decal showing "thunder bolt" type labels has already been embossed on the main bin and there's no way of getting rid of this. It doesn't however impede the sight of dirt flying around the cyclonic chamber, but the filter itself isn't like my sister's more expensive Dyson DC01 ...
Advantages: holds a lot of water both clean and dirty, also spot cleaner is usefull Disadvantages: leaves carpet wet when done
My review is about the VAXV126 upright vacuum cleaner, with carpet wash and spot clean feature.
I bought this Vax model from a catalogue the end of last year we don't have many carpets but the couple we do have had a few stains and our old vacuum cleaner was slowly falling apart after many years of ownership.
This one was recommended for pets and carpet stains by the catalogue we purchased it from. It's a 6000 watt powered cleaner with 2 litre water holder for clean water and a 2 litre water holder for the dirty water once it has been through the cleaning process and is bought back off your carpet. When these are full it turns itself off this is some form of safety feature to stop the machine over flowing and getting water into the system.
This Vax is rather heavy but still easy to manoeuvre around the floor all though I find it ...

Advantages: Plenty of tools and fairly lightweight Disadvantages: Overheated and cut out regularly, filter needed cleaning too often
Having previously owned a Dyson, I knew this wouldn't be as good! However, nothing prepared me for the trouble I was going to have with this vacuum cleaner!!!
Initially, all seemed good - excellent suction, lightweight and plenty of tools. Unfortunately, after a couple of light uses, the filter became so clogged that all the suction disappeared. It got to the stage where the filter had to be washed after every use!
The cylinder blew out a lot of very, very hot air too and, by the time it was 3 months old, overheated and cut-out after 10 minutes, almost every time I used it. It was repaired by Vax, but within another 3 months the same thing was happening. After yet another repair, and another 3 months, the cleaner became unusable!
Very disappointed! ...
