My vax is 6 years old now, it has never broken down but the end of the hose is plastic and years of using it wore it down so much that it would no longer stay in the tube. New hoses are readily available and I bought one off ebay which was a lot cheaper than buying directly from Vax.
This is a wet and dry vacuum which also shampoos carpets. Well, shampooing anything bigger than a rug takes forever and is physically exhausting. My teenage son thought I was being a wimp but even he gave up after cleaning approx 4 square metres in an hour.
It is brilliant for sucking up water if the washing machine leaks all over the place, it holds 8 litres of liquid. Not worth it for small spills because by the time you have removed the dust bag and inserted the inner tub you could have mopped it up.

the UK. Quite a few salons, I have found mainly in the Midlands stock BareMinerals, and the salon I work in does also, and has done for several years - the customers love it! Since using Bare Escentuals make up on my face, I would never use anything else and I know alot of customers feel the same. I think it is the best make up out there by far.

hello there i brought my vax 6131 last year, i just use it to clean my carpets, i will use it as my hover when the other one breaks down. It cost me £149.99.
The vax cleans spills, sucks up water etc, washes carpaets, and hovers, so all in all a good all rounder.
I find the machine very noisey when cleaning and sucking up spills, although overall it performs quite well, and has very got suction
The only problem i have is it won't remove the tea stain i have on my lounge carpet, which is a bit of a bum, apart from that it cleans pretty well.
It comes with removable cleanable filters, separate removable inner piece for hovering and one for washing. Also two diffrent hose/ nozzle attachments, one for wet, one for dry hovering and all the other extra nozzles you get with a normal hover ( dust bags must be fitted when hovering ).
