I have this projector in the room which my granddaughter sleeps in so that on the days when I look after her it can help soothe her to sleep. It definitely works too and in my opinion is very good value for money as it cost me just £12.99 from Amazon.
Children often find it hard to settle in their cots and need lots of soothing and this light helps to provide that comfort that they need.
It is pink and plastic but you can buy it in different colours too. It has little feet and stands on the floor next to my granddaughter's cot but you can put it on a table or something else which is flat so it will be in the right position to project the light onto the ceiling.
There are two time settings; 5 minutes and 10 minutes. I think it's a shame that there isn't a longer setting as sometimes it takes a bit longer than that for my granddaughter to fall asleep.
It projects moving images up onto the ceiling for your little one to focus on whilst at the same time playing different tunes. These are all recognisable and there are a good amount- I think there are about 20 different songs so it isn't too repetitive.
The pictures projected up onto the ceiling are in colour and are sleepy scenes like sheep and stars with sleepy looking faces on. You can adjust the focus so that it will still be in focus even if you move it to a different position.
It is very easy to use with big buttons that make it easy for you to press but also easy for a slightly older baby to be able to press for themselves too if they want to use it as a toy.
The only main problem is that this item does use a lot of batteries. We have rechargable ones and they last about 5 days of my granddaughter being here and then need to be charged again.
It does help to soothe her though, she is mesmerised by the pictures and then falls asleep without much fuss at all when we put this on!
