Volkswagen Beetle 1300

For my 200th review I’ve decided to step back in time and fondly remember an old friend from my earliest motoring days. I was in my early 20s, had my first job, and although being a committed biker (still am) had grown up enough to realise that two wheels aren’t always practical, especially if you have to transport two other people, wear a suit, or withstand everything the weather can throw at you. Ok you VW fans out there, I am going to tell you about my lovely 1969 beetle called Bluebell. I have always wanted one ever since I went to the vw festival in Margam park last year (2006) after seeing all the bugs and camper vans I fell in love. My dear husband said that if I was to sell my car I could have one for my 30th birthday, so I put my car on eBay and sold it straight away, then we had a look in the free ads and came across a bug and phoned the guy immediately and went straight up there. At 17 years of age this was the best thing to come into my life,my first car! Mine was a 1971 red 1300 model with flat screen and a black plastic interior all in great condition considering its age back in the mid 80s when I owned it.Why a Beetle? I thought I'd write a review for all those VW fans out there who are thinking of buying their own classic vw beetle 1300. i bought my 1300 1966 bug (Ermintrude) 2 years ago, after looking for a year I found my perfect beetle. She was sea blue with a cream leather interior and restored. I have since had to sell my baby for financial reasons, but her purchase was something that I will never regret. They may not be fast or 100%reliable but the joy and fun of driving it is unbeatable. I come from both england and africa i have recently just come back and me and a friend have bought two 70's beetles for resail in the uk.I live in the south west and want to know where is the nearest port to import to.
