The VW Bora, some people have not heard of this car before neither had i till i was looking for a VW Passat and was offered a bora instead, as soon as i saw it i fell in love with its looks, Metallic blue, only 22000 miles on a W-reg (2000) , 1.6s 16v, FVWSH, PAS 4x Electric Windows, ABS and that Beautiful bluey glow from the dashboard all VWs come with all for £7499.00. but thats where it stop i bought the car and at first it was amazing as lively as a puppy dog with the response and alertness of a tiger, for the first few days, then i filled the tank with petrol got 4 passengers in and off i went, "stalled it", unbelieveable the extra weight was making the handling sluggish i didnt like it one bit my new car did not have the power to keep up its performance (dont get me wrong i am talking about the Bora that was the Base of all the others), on the drive i came too quite a steep hill with a car in front only going about 40 mph on the 60mph road we were on so when we hit the hill my car with all the weight was slowing down 4th gear was unuseable, nightmare. Also with this car there is no Air Con, CD player, Computer, Alloys not even a sun roof, so why did i buy it you ask? well let me say this, this is a VW one of the most reliable car manufactures on the planet, and like i said the looks cant be beaten the handling when only 2-3 passengers in, and you can get about 35mpg, this car would be great if you are looking for a car to start you off driving bigger cars , also may i add this car Brand new will cost you the best part of £12,900 and second hand you can pick one like mine up for £7,000 which is very good for the quality of car you are getting, the boot size on these also is amazing, i am 5' 11" and i got in it and shut the boot door and there was still quite a bit of room, execellent. Overall i would recommend that you go for the 1.6 SE if you were looking because of the extras you get and the Bora was styled on the Golf so if you do want just the 1.6s then look at the Golfs except if you want the bigger car. i mark the VW bora 1.6s 7/10
