At the time of purchasing my Boxster in 2002 I also needed a four door car as well so rather than go down the path I had before (2 WRX Sti's) I chose the VW Bora 4Motion.
Several reason for my choice.
1. Insurance is a heap cheaper than a WRX
2. There is so much car for such a great price.

Firstly the choice of colour was Silver with a complete black leather interior. I ideally was after black on black ... ...with tan interior. Colour choice i would go for either of these 2 however VW seems to have a decent range of colours.
Drive train is well put together with a 2.8 litre V6 mated to a 6 Speed Manual only (No Auto Option) gear box. Power is rated at a decent 150 Kw with options for aftermarket ECU chips which boost power to around 170Kw.
My only complaint with the car was the water pump bearing dying after 8000K/m's however ... more

Firstly the choice of colour was Silver with a complete black leather interior. I ideally was after black on black but for some obscure reason the australian market has balck with tan interior. Colour choice i would go for either of these 2 however VW seems to have a decent range of colours.

My only complaint with the car was the water pump bearing dying after 8000K/m's however the guys at the local VW dealership here in Australia were excellent by not only giving a equivalent loan car but having my own vehicle ready with 24 hours of my complaint.
Options on the vehicle well there are no listed options apart from the factory standard which I refer back to my earlier comment of a heap of car for a great price. I say this only because at the time of purchasing the car I was infact looking at BMW and Audi's. My only detterent was that the option the VW had you had to pay a further 20K to enjoy them.
Standard Items.
Sunroof / 10 stacker CD player / Rain Sensor / Cruse control / On board Computer / Centre console arm rest / AWD / Wood grain trimmings.
I highly recommend the vehicle to people looking a tgetting into something that has excellent handling the 4wd System is pretty much on par with Subarus WRX.
Finally the rumour is VW has either stopped production or will be ceasing production of the Bora 4 motion. In either case I strongly believe this will keep a good holding resale value.
