the lady with the golf who says it gets a knocking sound when she has full lock on , i had the same problem it is the inner c,v boot which has probably got a small tear on it ,not that expensive to fix , i think about £50 ,makes your road handling a lot better also another prob which u may or may not know about, does your car drop its revs when u get to a junction? if so it needs one of the large fuse blocks changing on it . they are grey in colour and can be bought from vw for about £10 pounds although you need to have the carsfault codes done by diangostics which as u know can cost at least £30 pounds ,but you save on trying to fix it by looking for other problems which are not the cause, ie throttle body housing which some times collect dirt inside them and do not release the cable back thus giving you dipping revs. you can ask your garage to clean that aswell ,just in case.also don,t wait a full year to change oil they don,t like it change about every 6 months if not doing a lot of motorway miles ,4 months if you are ,cheaper than buying oil and filter kit and doing it your self go to a garage £24 its done and you havent got your hands dirty.
