Now I know the car looks 'old' in front of the new Passat but there is no doubting that the car is still the mainstay of many hoseholds and good value for it. Having driven a 1.9 as a company car for 12 months and 40K I wondered if the 2.5 would be worth the extra money - and the jury is still out. yes the car comes with other extras, part leather interior, roof rails etc, but I am really not sure how good the V6 diesel is compared to the best around - it is noisy, possibly noisier than the 1.9 but very subjective, and just doesn't ultimately feel any more flexible (this could be the choice of the gearbox) than its smaller brother. It is quicker, but over this is just another Passat with a bigger engine in it. It does things well but not sure that the extra is worth it.
