We bougth the car from new in April 2006 and have been using it daily since. I do about 220kms(160 miles) per day and havent had any problems so far. I have small family, we are living in Turkey and we all love the car.
On the downside, gauges on the dashboard are not clearly visible as top of the steering wheel hides the petrol and the temperature gauge from view. I should probably mention that I am in the region of 6'4'' tall. Head clearance is ok though.
The packet we bought did not include digital AC, road computer and side airbags. Thinking about the rivals for example Fiat Punto Grande has all of that included for the same price. There is also no MP3 player as standard.
The car is a little underpowered when climbing. 75hp struggles on some hills and I sometimes need to use it in the first gear.
Boot space is quiet small. We have a little baby and his pram won't fit into the boot unless the back seats folded down first. Once the pram is in, back seats can be returned to their original position.
Fuel economy is as expected. No diffrent than the rivals. But the offical figures are a little bit on the conservative side. You will surely do burn more than stated in the owners manual.
This is my fourth VW and I will probably continue using them for the forseable future. Previous ones included a Polo mk2, Golf mk2 and a 1967 Beetle. I ahe also driven a Passat TDi for work for a few years.
If a VW designer is reading this:
"In my view VW needs to put more extras in the cars, such as mp3 player, safety features, electric windows for the back as standart. They will make the good cars even more desirable must buys."

Good start - you could include info on the cost, mpg and 0-60 times and generally more details. x

Hi, welcome to Ciao. Not a bad start but you could have said a whole lot more. Have a look at some of RICHADA's reviews on cars. They are always of a very high standard. Let me know if you add anything and I will take another look.
Advantages: Surprisingly powerful engine for a 1.4, economical and of course its a VW promising reliability and good residuals. Disadvantages: Too easy to utilise engine's power and spoil economy!
