    I was called up by a friend whose computer had gone down with a virus, and the boot sector had been infected. In hindsight I overreacted, and should have had the conviction to connect their harddrive up to my computer as a non-booting hard drive and reconstruct the bootsector earlier, but instead I tried out V Buster. V Buster is a piece of software which would work from DOS and claimed to be able to write to inaccessible hard drives, and rebuild boot sectors, all this from a floppy, which sounded like a last resort as we could not get access to the CD Rom drive.
