This is my second Dyson vacuum, which says a lot in itself! I have owned an alternative "bagless cyclone" vacuum, but found that none compare to the suction power of a Dyson. Just like they say on their advert, if you want something like a Dyson, get a Dyson. I have found this carpet and uphostery cleaner very useful and able to manage the general day-to-day dirt and stains from having two dogs and two young children. ...Pound for pound however the Miele stood out as a front runner. The usual price of £200 would of discouraged me. But with an extra £40 off at Curry's it was not a bad deal at £159.99. Mine is actually a 2000W (max) so I think the description on here is wrong. It is also a sleek metallic titanium colour and does not look bad at all. Much better than the blue in the picture. Six symbols represent curtains, furniture, rugs, light daily use, fitted carpets and intensive cleaning. The fitted carpets and intensive cleaning modes really does give extremely powerful suction. A light on the machine gives you an up to the date position on your dust bag, so you know when it is time to change. The level of suction can be adjusted by moving a dial on the machine.
