Bad carpet roller bearing
Advantages: good suction when new Disadvantages: Poor design, bearings liable to sieze
Replacement for 15 year old Hoover which was still working but had run out of steam.
Quite impressed at first but seemed to be prone to jam when picking up long fibres. Went through about 4 belts in 15 months ( had similar problems with other uprights. I liked the ease of use and it seemed to retain suction quite well even when the dust container was 3/4 full.
Cleaned rollers on every occasion BUT just jammed again after 15 months and probably ...

A good little vacuum cleaner
Advantages: A powerful little beast Disadvantages: none
We bought this Electrolux as a replacement for the Hoover TD3824 which was no good to man nor beast.
The body is a pleasing silver with a stylish design.
It comes with a range of tools which can be stored in the body which is very handy, no more mislaid tools all over the house. There is the usual floor nozzle, dusting brushcrevice nozzle and upholstery nozzle, the only one which doesn't fit inside the body is the large floor nozzle.
There is a ... ...end of the hose, no more twisted hoses with a sudden loss of power.
Press a button to rewind the cabe so its all stored neatly inside,no more tangles in the cable, 1600 watts of variable power, enough for most peoples needs in my opinion.
You can use disposable dustbags (2 supplied with it)or the supplied textile bag which can be emptied and re-used. It features a motor protection filter which the manufacturer says should be cleaned about every ...

Not a bad vacuum for the price
Advantages: Cheap, decent cleaner, lightweight Disadvantages: Doesn't pick up every little bit off the carpet
...decided to go for the Electrolux Powerplus Z4411. HOW MUCH DID IT COST?
I am afraid that I can’t remember how much we paid for it when Dave bought it but it currently retails at £37.99 so it is a t the budget end of the market.
SO WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
It is a compact cylinder model in Sky Blue with a hose and two plastic extension tubes. The Hose fits into the top of the cylinder at the front and the fitting will rotate though 360 degrees which ... ...around by means of two wheels – one either side at the back end of the machine – and a ball set at the front of the machine making it easy to change direction when cleaning. The wheels and the ball are set underneath the cylinder – obviously!
It has an onboard container set in the lid which houses the combination crevice nozzle/brush and upholstery nozzle.
There are two foot switches, one of which is the on / off switch and the other is the mains ...

Ever wondered how good an Electrolux upright is?
Advantages: Robust, reliable, very good suction, easy to handle Disadvantages: Not very stable when using the flexi hose, no variable suction, no full-bag indicator
...£89 few months ago, this Electrolux vacuum cleaner has a rather classic design for an upright (at least compared to some, more futuristic, models from Dyson or even Morphy Richards), but its very nice amethyst satin finish compensates that and has contributed decisively (I have to admit that…) to my buying decision. I was initially thinking of buying a mousy-type of vac cleaner in order to use it for the stairs or some corners where my old ... ...me to decide for this Electrolux vac cleaner. First of all, I must say I am impressed with the way it cleans; it seems to glide across the carpets and makes this chore quite easy. At 1600W, the suction is very strong indeed, and noise and vibrations are not extremely loud, but it is definitely not a machine one would call quiet. It is rather lightweight for an upright (~7.3kg), and therefore quite easy to manoeuvre and carry around. Crevice nozzle ...

Excellent suction for general use
Advantages: Excellent suction, ergonomic Disadvantages: Short hose; no indicator light
...scuff-proof so far. Electrolux recommend using their synthetic dust bags; one came with the machine and it wasn't great; it didn't fit that well leading to the machine nearly becoming damaged very early in its life; but luckily I noticed it was making a noise that wasn't quite right and I found out what was wrong. Since then I have used the supermarket generic paper bags for electrolux uprights; and they work much better. The suction on this vacuum ... ...and I have tried quite a few; its consistent and lasts right until the bag is completely full. It made the carpets look like new and will even suck up dried sticky messes on the laminate flooring.
The only really big con is the hose is not that long; there is a higher 'stairmaster' model that has a much longer hose but the hose on this model is shorter than average; its a bit ridiculous really and it wouldn't have hurt to have made it average length. ...
