Dyson DC20 Animal Stowaway Pro : This Vacuum cleaner is 'THE BEST' I have ever used/owned. It beats the Kirby every time, cost wise, It out performs every other vacuum I have ever tried, as a Decorator I operate many clients vac's, none come close to the Dyson for efficient dust and paper collection. The brush floor tool is absolutely brilliant, whether you have pets or not.. just get one... it cleans right to the very edge of the carpet... no more ...

...not as heavy as older Dyson models or as noisy (although still fairly loud) and it comes with a range of attachments which are easy to fit and remove and which make it easy to clean the car upholstery and stairs. I believed that Hoover was the market leader and bought one of their top of the range products. It is a very heavy machine. My wife and children all struggle with it. It is very "plasticy" and the attachments soon fall off. I would avoid this machine like the plague.
