hello there i brought my vax 6131 last year, i just use it to clean my carpets, i will use it as my hover when the other one breaks down. It cost me £149.99. The vax cleans spills, sucks up water etc, washes carpaets, and hovers, so all in all a good all rounder. ...to buy third party or VAX standard (internet best place to buy). Filters - 3 are needed and tend to get dirty with repeated carpet cleaning (one is dry use only). There are no spares supplied but are cheap to buy from VAX by mail order. Carpet cleaning fluid - there are lots of dedicated varieties from VAX including allergy relief, pet care, etc. Most seem to do the same job.
