Samsung SU 2900
Review of Samsung SU2931 by
Tattletittle
Advantages: Lightweight - Powerful Suction - Pet Hair Removal
Disadvantages: None so far.
...failure. I chose the Samsung SU 2900 range, knowing and trusting Samsung products in the past, I felt there was nothing to loose and all to gain.
This machine is lightweight, easy to use, all the accesories work as they should do, including the pet hair turbo brush, which failed on the Hoover machine. The 1800w motor is more than adequate. The machine seems to glide around, living up to its name the jetpropel light. It is easy on your back and arms, ... ...slide bar to lock. Samsung call it the Real Easy Cup. Filters are accessible and washable, they also include a spare drive belt and exhaust filter in the box.
Usual accessories so that you can do stairs, curtains, nooks and crannies, all but the turbo brush are stored on board the machine. The turbo brush works well and is quiet in operation.
Having tried the machine, on a clean carpet, I was amazed how much hair and dust it removed, within seconds ...

Roomba - best on hard floors
Review of iRobot Roomba by
kitty.cat
Advantages: Excellent on hard floors
Disadvantages: Limited cleaning power with deeper pile carpets.
I found myself without a vacuum cleaner and saw this one on offer for £79.99 +VAT at Makro. Not being fond of housework, I bought it. Downstairs, I have wood and tiled floors and the robot works a treat on these. They can be cleaned everyday without any effort which is great. It has a spot clean mode function so if it finds a bit of 'dirty' floor, it will focus on this area for longer than usual. I was worried about how well it would cope on my carpets ... ...of paper from my shredder. I had short pile carpets and the vacuum managed fine - better than I expected - although it didn't clean the edges very well. I recently bought a deeper pile carpet for my bedroom and let the robot loose on this. It cleaned the carpet reasonably well but I could see 'little bits' on the carpet which the robot just couldn't cope with. I went over the floor again with an upright hoover I just bought and it was obvious that ...

Dyson DC19
Review of Dyson DC19 by
lallofrall
Advantages: Great sucking power, easy to use, easy to put away
Disadvantages: Not easy to store, specific storing method!
This is quite a popular vacuum as a lot of people i know have this particular one!!! One feature i hate, always will and always have is the storage method!!! you basically roll the vacuum head into a little concave indent! This means you also have to have the specific head on it!!! You cant stow it away with any other head except the man one! Even then it is so large to put into a cupboard or something! However it is relatively simple to use! Great ... ...is great and it has a cable retraction button so you don't have to worry about winding it up! Its not the best of the Dysons we have had but it certainly isn't the worst! It is very reliable and hasn't broke down once for me and it cleans very well! The main head has two features built in... A Brush and suck, or just a suck option!!! I received this vacuum relatively cheap, i think i secured it for around £120! It is great at cleaning, my favourite ...

A vacuum that doesn't!
Review of Russell Hobbs 13946 by
Bansheeme1
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: very poor performance, reliability
Have just returned for refund after machine developed strong burning smell and worry that it might just suddenly ignite and burn the house rather than just clean it. (6 months). Very poor performance at picking up dust and dirt from any kind of carpet and would not pick up cat hairs from these at all. Needed emptying almost every time you hoovered or would not pick up anything at all. Not particularly quiet and change of brushes fiddly. Tried both ...

Surprisingly Powerful Hand-held Cleaner!
Review of Electrolux Z61A by
joshyalfie
Advantages: Doesn't run out of power, very strong suction
Disadvantages: Heavy
Fed up with the poor battery-life of other hand-held cleaners, I have opted for this corded one - I'm impressed!
The cord is 6 metres long and reaches easily from room to room and from room to car. It also allows me to clean my entire staircase when lugged in upstairs! The suction is fantastic - watch your car mats though, its very strong! I love the fact that you don't get half-way through a job then the battery runs out!
Its very compact and ...
