...Its a real shame. Vax replaced mine [excellent customer service!] but sent annother with the same fault. Tip! if you have this problem cut a thin strip of that bubbly 'non slip mat' and evo-stick it to the edge of the filter seal, then after 12 hours to dry really well rub talc round the seal and it will then fit snugly and your vax will work well. ...
