Wish there were NO star rating - this deserves just that

Advantages: Absolutely none
Disadvantages: Awkward, heavy, very flimsy, none existent customer service,

I bought one of these 2 years ago after carefully reviewing via 'Which' - it has a 'best buy' rating. It has been the single worst purchase I have ever made. The cleaning performance is adequate but the real beauty (?) of this cleaner is the extreme work out you get when using it. It is very very awkward to manoeuvre and incredibly heavy in use fit only for body builders. The tools are flimsy and the bags are almost impossible to source. I have a ...
...tool section lid that will not close and is held together with tape after 18 months. Despite many emails to Nilfisk, I am still awaiting even acknowledgement let alone reply/action - in real terms the 5 year parts guarantee is meaningless. Home-Tek Compact Carpet Sweeper HT816

Advantages: Quick, Easy, Quiet
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

Having had a bad experience with a recent purchase of a rechargeable carpet sweeper, I was a tad reluctant to try another. The previous one, (of an different make), made more noise than a threshing machine. I digress. This one, from Home-Tek, is a huge improvement on the other brand, light, quiet and easy to use, it actually picks things up, rather than flinging them from one side of the room to the other. FANTASTIC

Advantages: Easy to use and get around places
Disadvantages: wouldnt say there were much but could br=e bit cheaper

...wasnt going to purchase the dyson due the price but it was recommended to me by a member of my family and im so glad they did, not like the other vacuums that let you down after a few weeks or get blocked 8-) well done Dyson. I'v had a few hoover's in last few years but this one has lasted the longest. its that good i bought my mother one and they still both work today!! ONLY GETS BETTER

Advantages: lightweight manouverable incredible performance
Disadvantages: just a little concern about lower hose CONNECTION

Vax Mach Air Excellent Lightweight Cleaner

Advantages: Light, easy to move, powerful
Disadvantages: Hose attachment, Cord length

I recently purchased the Vax Mach Air as it was reduced from £180 to £129 to replace my existing Vax Cleaner First Impressions were surprise that the unit could be so light and still clean as well as it does. The suction is extremely powerful and makes shortwork of cleaning up our dog Murphy's hair.
