Advantages: Fairly lightweight, fantastic suction, easy emptying, good looking. Disadvantages: Actually, I can't think of any.
My first Marathon was bought purely because it was cheap from one of the TV shopping channels, unfortunately we had a flood and it drowned! I was distraught. I eventually managed to buy another one from a factory shop but was looking online and would gladly have paid list price after being so pleased with the original one. It comes with all the attachments you could want for all sorts of uses. I love the turbo head which cleans carpets like a dream. ... ...the fantastic suction on this vacuum cleaner gets the hairs out of the carpet with little effort on my part. I have tried other machines with the same wattage but they haven't had the suction that this one has. It is easy to see when the clear perspex container needs emptying and it is very simple to do so. Great product, very quiet and quite lightwight so easy to carry. It gets right into the corners and skirtings easily without having to change attatchments and easily reaches under large items e.g tables, cots unlike upright hoovers. It also has a large button at the back which you push, when you are finished, and it reels the cable back in for you. It leaves my carpets looking almost new again as it has such great suction. ...on the box VAX C91-MZ-B MACH (vax mach zen) has very powerful suction as it picks up every thing ie hair etc from carpets and i found my carpets looked a lot better as if they were new. it is a very quiet Hoover which is fab if you have children like mine who hate the sound of Hoovers my daughter even helped which was a big surprise 70% quieter than conventional cylinder vacuum cleaners i did think it was going to be lighter vacuum when i first read ... ...i would highly recommend this vax mach zen vacuum to friends and family as it is very good and reliable and easy to use. it comes with 6 year guarantee for added peace of mind. vacuums carpets and hard floors 2.6 litre capacity HEPA filter 8m cord length which is very handy saves unplugging all the time 1.8m hose crevice tool 2-in-1 tool metal telescopic extension tube i like this as it extends so you can reach all the cobwebs etc easier combination ...

I love this hoover and what it does. It's so convenient when you have light crumbs/dust/or even spilt kitty litter! perfect for carpets or rugs. the fact that you don't have to bother with pulling out the bulky vaccum and plugging it in just does it for me. the detatched part which can turn into a mini vac much like a car vaccum is very handy for getting in those corners even though the hoover as a whole does corners very well. Putting the hoover ... ...load of fiddling. The turbo function is a must and I don't bother with any other setting even on flat surfaces. Unclipping the attachment from the main frame is easy and emptying it for the first time will need some manual opening of the 'door', after that it opens easily with a press of the trigger. Around the internal filter dust collects and sometimes doesn't come out as well as you'd expect so giving it a little shake over the bin or pulling ...
