No cords - FANTASTIC!! Advantages: Ease of use and convenience Disadvantages: That they don't do buy one get one free! I love this hoover and what it does. It's so convenient when you have light crumbs/dust/or even spilt kitty litter! perfect for carpets or rugs. the fact that you don't have to bother with pulling out the bulky vaccum and plugging it in just does it for me. the detatched part which can turn into a mini vac much like a car vaccum is very handy for getting in those corners even though the hoover as a whole does corners very well. Putting the hoover ... ...load of fiddling. The turbo function is a must and I don't bother with any other setting even on flat surfaces. Unclipping the attachment from the main frame is easy and emptying it for the first time will need some manual opening of the 'door', after that it opens easily with a press of the trigger. In case you’re in any doubt, this vacuum cleaner is made for humans - my cat didn’t have a clue! First impressions are of a nicely finished, extremely solid bit of kit. Get it before Kim and Aggie get you! Advantages: good for pet hairs, ball mechanism Disadvantages: ugly, loud, no auto-recoil ...got herself one of these Dyson DC24 Ball cleaners, and when I visited, I saw a marked improvement. The house smelled a lot fresher - she'd loosened an awful lot of crap out of the carpets with the cleaner and on close inspection, I could find almost no hairs of any description! She was really pleased with herself for finally getting a Dyson, but there was a major drawback - the size. Its a very compact cleaner, less than 5kg in weight. This makes ... ...to keep clean, so the Dyson does me for about a week before it needs to be emptied. I love it. The ball mechanism makes it very easy to get around and underneath furniture and units, and the main brush but seems to get all dirt right to the edge of the wall, minimising the need for messing about with attachments. Hoover Freespace - A waste of money? Advantages: Looks good Disadvantages: Doesn't 'hoover' well ...make a vacuum cleaner then Hoover will'. We were wrong. Straight out of the box, the suction seemed very good and worthy of the 2000w rating. Trouble is, after using it a few times the suction power dropped badly. The problem seems to be that whenever the filter gets a little dirty (as it will), then the suction disappears. Cleaning the filter is awkward and messy and only improves matters for a short time. Dyson Animal - King of the vacuums Advantages: does what it claims, safe for stairs Disadvantages: expensive I have a new vacuum and I love it!!!!! I am a pet owner and cat breeder so the obvious choice for me was to get a 'pet specific' vacuum. I have had ones in the past but find that they do not cope well with the short barbed hairs of my Dalmatian. So with a bit of trepidation I coughed up the enormous price tag attached to this vacuum with the hope it would work. I unpacked the vacuum and was please to find it mostly together already.
