...back to argos, but since samsung have a customer repair service they were unwilling to replace it for me, even though I have 4 small children one of whom has just started crawling.
I had to call samsung and give them my details for a "call back" am still waiting for an engineer to come and "fix" it.
Samsung is a terrible brand, their customer service is terrible and I would have thought a 5 month old hoover that doesn't work should be replaced ...

I bought this hoover on impulse. I was looking for some replacement bags for my old electolux upright having run out half way through tiding the house for guests and passed it in Tesco. It was on offer at only £50 far cheaper than Dyson equivalents.
Assembly: You have to fit the top half of the handle to the main body with some unwieldy screws, but it was a simple process.
Styling: The simple ... ...preferable to the original dyson colours.
Function: The suction power on this is very impressive. I had filled two 'tubs' within 20 minutes. As i said earlier i was half way through tiding the house and i was even pulling dust and dirt out of areas of carpet i had already hoovered! I suffer from asthma made worse by dust allergies and have noticed a significant improvement since we bought this machine,

...failure. I chose the Samsung SU 2900 range, knowing and trusting Samsung products in the past, I felt there was nothing to loose and all to gain.
This machine is lightweight, easy to use, all the accesories work as they should do, including the pet hair turbo brush, which failed on the Hoover machine. The 1800w motor is more than adequate. The machine seems to glide around, living up to its name the jetpropel light. It is easy on your back and arms, ... ...slide bar to lock. Samsung call it the Real Easy Cup. Filters are accessible and washable, they also include a spare drive belt and exhaust filter in the box.
Usual accessories so that you can do stairs, curtains, nooks and crannies, all but the turbo brush are stored on board the machine. The turbo brush works well and is quiet in operation.
Having tried the machine, on a clean carpet, I was amazed how much hair and dust it removed, within seconds ...

...extra dirt and dust this samsung cleaner picked up - with a cat and a baby in the house I vacuum everyday but when I used this anyone could be forgiven for thinking I hadnt vacuumed in weeks. my lounge alone filled the easy cup twice!
The cup is extra easy to empty although it would be nice if it held a little more, the machine is lightweight - a little too lightweight when trying to use the long hose to do the stairs - mine topples over as soon ... ...easily stored on the machine although I would prefer an automatic winding cord and the stair attachment - quite frankly is pants - I have used it once and now banished it to the cupboard - favouring just the nozzle of the hose instead.
Although it may not be a dyson or have the build quality of some other more expensive vacuums - for the price I am more than happy with it and it's over all performance is very good - however, be warned - my baby ...

Bought this from Argos to replace a rather rubbish Morphy Richards that we had to take back when the flex crumbled and fell apart.
Seems well made for the price and has a number of clever features. For example the waste container can be removed with a single lever. The brush attachment is a rather clever double headed affair, you twist the head to select the surface type you are cleaning.
It's bagless and the filters are washable too - no expensive ... ...some minor assembly needed - you need to attach the handle with two screws, but as this keeps the box size down, lowers the transport costs and thus the price it's not a huge problem to me!
Our previous Morphy Richards was made of a fragile feeling plastic - this machine feels far more robust and should stand up to knocks well.
Mains lead length is more than adequate!
