Advantages: The airo brush is fantastic Disadvantages: Getting rid of the hairs on airo brush, changing hoover bag.
I have been a household cleaner for the last two years now and when we bought the business we were given a meile hoover after using that for a few months we got a henry hoover with the airo brush. We needed a hoover that was light, easy to carry, has attachments and easy for storing when travelling from home to home and was well known. This was it the henry but whats the extra. The airo brush what an earth was this. We had to try it out as soon as ... ...it done and wow what a thing to have in any home.
The hoover is so durable as it gets banged around in the back of the van so many times. It is an excellent performer with the airo brush on as it picks up lots of fluff and hairs off the carpets and made hoovering look really easy with this. It made cleaning peoples house such light work and made the time less as it saves having to take the nozzle off and manualy get down on your hands and knees ...
Advantages: Great suction, gets right ot the edge Disadvantages: awkward to use and messy to empty
...we finally settled on a Vax V-019x (the one with the Xtend feature - more of this later). Our decision was made on the basis of a combination of the features offered by the machine, and the saving on the MRP.
It arrived, neatly packaged with its hose, chromed telescopic tube, combination floor head (with switch to change between hard floor and carpet), upholstery brush, crevice tool, and turbo brush (a head with rotating brushes - great for “massaging” ... ...one that’s available from the VAX website)
On the top are the on/off switch, a control for the power cord rewind (very effective!), and a dial for varying the suction, though this can get knocked by the hose in use, changing the suction when you don't want to. There are a set of five funky blue lights to let you know how much suction you are using.
On one side is the cover for the “post motor filter”, which needs to be cleaned every 9 - 12 months. ...
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: very poor performance, reliability
Have just returned for refund after machine developed strong burning smell and worry that it might just suddenly ignite and burn the house rather than just clean it. (6 months). Very poor performance at picking up dust and dirt from any kind of carpet and would not pick up cat hairs from these at all. Needed emptying almost every time you hoovered or would not pick up anything at all. Not particularly quiet and change of brushes fiddly. Tried both ...
Advantages: Relatively inexpensive hand-held vacuum which does a good job. Disadvantages: Minor design niggles.
...What I bought was the Home-tek HT807 also known as "The Hunter" and I got it from Lakeland Ltd for £29.95. The packaging was appropriate and all recyclable. What I got for my money was a retro-looking machine 17 x 30 x 20cm weighing no more than a lightly filled shopping basket. It comes complete with a motorised brush, dusting brush and crevice tool.
The manual with the machine is comprehensive and bearing in mind the necessity to give warnings ... ...is as short as possible. I read it in a few minutes and had the machine fully-operational in less than ten. I've now been using it for about six months.
It comes with 6m of flex, which is comparable to many full-sized vacuum cleaners and means that there's no problem when cleaning the stairs. I can start at the top and work my way right to the bottom without having to change sockets. There's no automatic cord re-wind or even anywhere specifically ...

Review of Home-Tek HT807
Advantages: Easy to store, great suction Disadvantages: none
When my last Dyson Hoover died on me after 15 years as it has lasted so well I felt that it had to be a Dyson again. They are definitely worth the expense. I chose the Dyson DC23 because we wanted something more compact than the upright Dyson that we had previously. This model is very compact and the hose and wand winds around the base very well and easily. The power cable pulls out of the base and automatically rewinds on the press of a button. ... ...seem to do. The Dyson Hoover sucks up alot of stuff that other Hoovers leave behind. Once you have used a dyson, you will never use anything else. A Dyson Hoover is a good investment. Even though it is expensive, it pays for itself over and over as it last a lot longer than other Hoovers and requires no bags or replacement filters. The filter on this Dyson needs washing occasionally. In the instructions it recommends every 3 months. ...
