So about 3 and a half years ago my Biasi combi was only a year old and had been repaired five times the five times it was repaired the following was replaced: P.C.B twice Heat exchanger Fan Igniter.
Then I decided it was time for a replacement,I initially was going to go for a Worcester but then a plumber told me Vaillant was a safer choice.
Why was Vaillant a safer choice?
It had a stainless steel heat exchanger, this is always better in condensing boilers as the condensate produced in a condensing boiler can corrode away a copper or Alluminium heat exchanger. Although the heat exchanger in the Worcester is Alluminium coated with silicone there is no guarantee of how long the coating will last.
Sedbuk band A efficiency.
Fault finding diagnostics or boiler display system, pinpoints faults and makes service and commisioning easier.
2 year guarantee and 5 year anti-scale guarantee on hot water heat exchanger.
So Vaillant it was, my installer came and took out the old radiators and the tank for my older conventional boiler and he of course took out the old troublesome Biasi.
Then he flushed out the system and added inhibitor to prevent sludge.
Once the boiler was installed he told me that because it is a condensing boiler the flue may produce a plume of water vapour in cold weather mostly. He gave me a brass key much like a radiator bleeding key to refill the system as the pressure drops when the pressure drops below 1 bar you simply insert the key to a kind of valve under the boiler and turn it quarter way and wait for the pressure to return to normal 1.5 bar.
Firstly I went to see how fast the water will come out at a decent temperature in about 11 second the water was flowing nicely and was a very good temperature. The tap I used was upstairs and the boiler was downstairs.
The controls are well laid out and easy to use they are two knobs one for controlling the hot water temperature and one for the central heating temperature. There is a boiler display system which displays heating flow temperature and various info like, burner ignited etc. There is a optional timer which plugs into the control panel,I already had an external timer.
The user manual was clear and well laid out.
This boiler is tough and durable.
This boiler is quiet in operation and very efficient.
Codensing boilers are very efficient and are not harmful to the environment they save a lot on your gas bills.
Vaillant boilers are quality German boilers, I've had this boiler for just over 3 years and have not suffered breakdowns.
It is strange that when I was going to get a new boiler I naturally thought of getting a Worcester Bosch, just because of the Bosch logo. Although Worcester are taken over by Bosch the boilers are still British made and not German, like many think.
Thanks for reading.
