Advantages: great book, great series Disadvantages: more of a detective story than the last one
I got this book in a set of 6 books, all of which is in this series. All 6 books makes this series complete. I have already reviewed the first book, so I advise you to look at that review before reading this one, considering this book is the second one in the series. I have to admit, that I had never ever heard of this series, nor the author for that matter, and bought the complete set on the basis of the description. You can probably guess that ... ...library gets. I am very pleased that I am able to buy books from that catalogue as you get some brilliant offers. Such as; this book, + the other 5 books. They are usually £4.99 EACH, which sums up to £29.94 if you bought them all in a shop, for instance. However I got a great bargain and got them all for just under £10. How can anyone refuse that?

I have to admit, that I had never ever heard of this series, nor the author for that matter, and bought the complete set on the basis of the description. You can probably guess that I got this from the scholastic catalogue that my school library gets. I am very pleased that I am able to buy books from that catalogue as you get some brilliant offers. Such as; this book, + the other 5 books. They are usually £4.99 EACH, which sums up to £29.94 if you bought them all in a shop, for instance. This book continues the story of the 3 children's lives, Jack, Emily, and Ben. The professor urgently gets news for them and they hurriedly sail off to Paris. However Jack keeps on getting nightmares and imagery about the vampires, proclaiming they are back. Only Emily and Ben reckon their friend is going paranoid, but when the Professor is proclaimed dead, Emily and Ben start believing Jack. But how did Camazotz stay alive? Why is he in Paris of all places? And why did the professor ask them to go to Paris with him?
I fully enjoyed this book, but I was eager to read it considering the last book "London" was left at a all-mighty cliff-hanger, and I couldn't just wait and wait until I had the chance to read this book, so every so often I moved this book up and up on my "need to read" book list, until finally it floated it's way to the top. I read it in one day, as I had predicted and it was intriguing and believable, I thought I was there, watching the story open up before my eyes. Though there was one problem, which is that this second book did not lurch me in straight away. What I mean is that the first book kicked off with non-stop action, then in-between it settled down, and then it lashed out again. This one, however, was more of a detective story, where the main characters don't know anything and evidence and evidence pops up out of no where and they have tons of leads. I sure hope the sequel to this book isn't the same, and I hope it's different all together.
Now ciao has put up the original cover, this so annoys me, considering all the books with that cover has been taken off the shelves and the pictures have changed on the internet. I don't understand why they must put the original one on when 90% of people who have read this book, recognises the cover differently. However I don't know which cover I prefer, they do look pretty similar but the one before me has a better affect.
I totally recommend this whole series to everyone and anyone as no matter who you are I reckon you'll love the books as much as I do. Thanks for reading
